I just did same day rush for The Great Gatsby and got orchestra close to the front... for $40 ... very lucky.. but yes it works :)

You actually can't always get a single seat for Hamilton, even if they have them. They will not break up any pairs, so if all there are available are pairs throughout the house, even though there are those seats available, they will not sell them to a single person. Not every house is like that, but Hamilton is.

Of course! Ooh -- I would definitely buy in person to save on fees if it looks like there are ample seats avail for the show you're wanting to see. Otherwise, I can't think of other resources ATM--maybe TodayTix?

Great video! Can you define when peak, seasonal, off peak on Broadway is? Also what's a good plan to have for a Saturday night show? Is there a good restaurant to visit before hand? Or maybe a late night spot to visit after the show? I'm not too familiar with the Theater district. Thank you for this video.

Honestly, I think of it like school schedules--if kids are off school (Christmas holidays, Thanksgiving, Spring break)--it's peak! And re: restaurant, there are TONS of options in the area. Make your way to 9th avenue for actually good food--I try not to stray too far east towards Times Square :)

Thank you for the information! I have two questions. First, what advice do you have for last minute ticketing? I’m wondering if they remove tickets from the official online inventory on the day of show, and offer them exclusively through TKTS? I have a trip planned where my flight lands on a Friday late afternoon and I’m hoping to catch a show upon landing, but I don’t want to buy the tickets until I’m sure I’ll be there in time. I’m trying to strategize how and when to buy tickets in that scenario. My other question is - are there ways to access discounts for teachers? Not specifically arts teachers, but just teacher discounts in general. Thank you!

You can definitely still catch great last minute tickets at the box office! (Particularly this time of year) That would definitely be my advice here. Oh, and I wish I knew specific programs for teachers--we definitely *should* have some, though I don't know of any off the top of my head that currently exist.

I'm coming to new York in February I would love to see Hamilton but the tickets are just so so expensive - would you recommend just purchasing the chepest (nose bleaders) in advance just to be able to see the show??

Oof, for Hamilton it's tricky. Check TodayTix to see if it saves you any $$, but otherwise, yeah, I'd say probably buy in advance. That SAID February is definitely slower, so you could gamble, try to save on fees, and check box office or TKTS day of!!

Hi there! Would you be willing to recommend a show that our fam of 4 would love? 22y/o boy and husband are waaaay more into sports…but I know there are things they’d love. My daughter and I have already seen Lion King, Jersey boys and Book of Mormon

Thanks for your tips. We are coming to NYC mid March. What do you think the chances to get 4 tickets to Aladdin, Lion King or Michael Jackson for cheap on Sunday or Monday?

Most theaters are dark on Monday, and those are all best selling shows! But check TKTS website to see if you can nab cheaper seats in advance!

Hey! I'd probably try TKTS if you're going off season, or just go to the box office if it's high season. That's a trickier one, since it sells really well!
