I have straight hair as well and was told to use synthetic how ever I don’t like the finished look is there no way for straight hair to be braided naturally

For thinner hair it helps add volume and the slightly coarse curl pattern will help keep the braids on.

YoMelody when taking a shower, focus on cleaning your scalp more than the braids. you want to put shampoo only on your scalp as well and rinse. do not put conditioner, it has silk like ingredients that loosen the braids. hope i helped!
