Hi Kimberley, I just wanted to say it’s been a year since I made comment under your video because I didn’t understand support. I got myself a singer teacher during that time that I made that comment under your video. Now, watching this video, everything that you are saying makes sense. I watch other videos that talk about support but I have to say, you’re idea of “support” makes sense to me because this is what my singing teacher taught me. I wanted to let you know that when I made that comment that my abs were clenching when I was singing. I was inhaling loudly and also I would hold my breath before I sing. When I went to my class, my singing teacher pointed that out and since then everything became easy. I have noticed that when I inhale silently keeping my shoulders down and relaxed and my poisture straight, it feels natural in comparison to breathing loudly. Thank you. You’re amazing.

I loved the third tip, where you push out first and then inhale, its soo easy, thanks and you look gorgeous in that black dress, i m down ❤

In yoga breathing exercises (Pranayama) we instruct students to "Imagine" they are breathing all the way down to the pelvic floor and to activate Udiana Bahnda (basically kegel exercises, yes men can also do this) which gives amazing support not only to the breathing system but support throughout the whole torso.

Thanks so much for sharing, that's so interesting! In singing, as far as what I know, we tend to not want to pull in and tighten the sphincters of the body in this way. If anything, some singers use a "baring down" to add support to their voices. But it'd be interesting to try both approaches and see what works best for you.

Hi Kimberly. I wanted to ask you question. My abs clench when I sing on the exhale. How can I relax them?

Hi Maryan, do they clench or do they move in with the way you're using your air? Did you follow along with the next video on support? Was your belly doing that or was it tightening by itself (no connection to the breath)?

Kimberley Smith they clench while it’s moving with the air. I am able to sustain my notes longer just my stomach clenches.

@@thatsweetroar also I wanted to ask, how much do we inhale? Do we inhale to the point where the belly stops or before that. What happens to me is when I inhale until my belly stops, my belly is tight is tight. I can connect my voice to my breath btw
