in nature likely not so often, this species lives in a place where the water is cold much of the year. In an aquarium they can breed every 2 months. I would avoid doing that with fish, it will make them have a shorter life span.

I think better stop feeding first for a week, and then start feeding again.

What danios or barbs would you recommend?

Any of the _Dawkinsia_ , the most common is _D.filamentosa_ , or maybe _Hampala_ spp. - South American _Leporinus_ or _Myleus/Metynnis_ also do well.

@@belowwater these are hard to find here in the uk 🇬🇧 would any commonly found Danios or Barbs do well ?

@@Daz-0161 yes, i guess so, you would have to try it. Remember that the Andean cichlids don't want the water that warm, but your Asian Barbs (I think Danios are too small) would likely like it too hot. Metynnis and Leporinus should be easy to find.

UPDATE! Just had my first spawn 😃 didn’t add my dither fish but added some extra plants on wood last week & now she’s spawned next to the new plant on a pebble
