As the dental hygienist has been exclusively recommending Sonicare to my patients for 28 years, a couple of corrections I'd make to this video to make it more accurate and thorough... Brush further down the gumline, and small circular motions. It would also be great to see the change in position of the toothbrush to a vertical position required for the mandibular anteriors (sextant 5 incisors) area.
@yieldsigns

Even with moving the brush to a vertical position I find that it's kind of difficult sometimes to get into the space between teeth what is toothbrushes at least without applying further pressure which I understand is bad.

It's also a bit tricky to get the hang of it.... was it worth 250? I don't think so. But I have it now need to make the most of it lol
@Philips
@Philips 9 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Danielle. We are sorry to hear that your Sonicare toothbrush vibrates too powerfully. The strength of the vibrations can be surprising when you use an electric toothbrush for the first time. It is normal to feel more vibration when using a manual toothbrush. Some models include an EasyStart feature. This feature slowly increases the vibration during the first 14 brushing sessions. It allows you to gradually get used to the vibrations. If you still feel it is too powerful, you can consider reducing the intensity level. Some brushing modes use different intensity levels. You can try to change the brushing mode. Not all models have the intensity feature. Please refer to the user manual to find out how to change the intensity setting. We hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, please get in touch via Social Media. We're available on Facebook (@Philips) and Twitter (@PhilipsCare).

Hi Diane, thank you for getting in touch with us with your query. There's no specific order for using different modes on your Philips Sonicare Toothbrush. The Clean mode works great every time, but if you want to customize your brushing sessions to best suit your needs, try using different modes. In White mode, your toothbrush works a bit harder to remove surface stains caused by things like coffee and tea. After the standard two-minute program is completed, you’ll get an extra thirty seconds to focus on polishing your front teeth. If you have any further inquiries, please feel free to connect with us via social media. We're available on Facebook (@Philips) and X (@PhilipsCare).

So my dentist told me yesterday, and the video shows, to brush the outside and inside the teeth. However, one difference is she suggested to do the outside of the upper teeth (left and right sides) for the first segment, then the inside of the uppers for the next 30, then the lower outside for the next segment and finally the inside of the lowers for the next 30. The video infers doing each quadrant for 30 seconds, both inside and outside. I think this is a better way to do it, since I have to reposition my grip to get the insides on the left and right. Guess it doesn't matter too much, as long as you get the insides as well as the outsides.

Interestingly, what your dentist suggests is what's in the manual included with the brush. It then says "spend additional time" - without saying how long - on the chewing surfaces. Makes no sense.

It also has a quadpacer, which let's you know when to switch sides. :) More info about your brush can be found here: to.philips/6050Gn2j4. And please let us know if you need any further assistance!

@MarkPermann 2 жыл бұрын
 @Philips Thanks for your response! Your video defines quadrants as upper left/right + lower left/right. Your manual defines them as upper front/back and lower front/back, then says after the timer is over, "spend additional time brushing the chewing surfaces" - that is a direct quote. If you scan the comments below you'll see others have been confused about this. If you google "quadpacer chewing surfaces" the top link shows people have been confused about this since at least 2004. I would happily share direct links to your manual but KZfaq doesn't allow external URLs in comments.But go to Philips USA site and look at page 12 of the manual for the 4100.
@Philips
@Philips 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for further elaborating on it, Mark. We've taken a look at the manual and the Quadpacer feature is the same as on the video. The placement of the number might have caused confusion but it suggests similar divisions as above while brushing. Also, after finishing a whole 2-minute of brushing session, you may extend or continually brush the top part of your teeth (chewing surfaces) and other areas where staining usually occurs. You may do this while the toothbrush is off. Feel free to let us know if we can still be of assistance. Have a good one!

So I have one and love it. A good electric toothbrush is definitely something that is worth investing in. Question, so is it 30 seconds per quadrant; both sides of the teeth w brush at 45° angle then the head straight on the top of the teeth? So that's 3 sections within one quadrant- 10 seconds each?

For the gum health mode, the second round of brushing is the same as the first, just with a different vibration mode? Also, the manual talks about inner and outer surfaces, but doesn't talk about chewing surfaces at all.
@Philips
@Philips 6 жыл бұрын
That's correct, the Gum Health mode adds an extra minute of reduced power brushing to the end of the standard two-minute program. Because the Gum Health mode focuses on the health of the gums, this mode is empathizing the inner and outer surfaces as they are connected to the gums.

@Philips
@Philips Жыл бұрын
Hi Anwar, thanks for your comment! Electric toothbrushes are used just the same as regular toothbrushes. ☺️ This means that you indeed put toothpaste on the toothbrush head before brushing. The only difference is that you should not move the electric toothbrush back and forth on your teeth like you would a regular toothbrush - the Sonicare technology from our electric toothbrushes vibrates the brush head. This means that all you have to do is move the toothbrush slowly around your mouth and let the brush head do the work. 🤗 We hope this information is helpful!

I don't think I'll get an answer but I'll try : I have bought the HX9992/12 (Prestige 9900) and on the app, with every program, it's divided in 6 parts x 2 (bottom left/mid/right, top left/mid/right, outside and inside). I run the program of 3 minutes, so 180s/12 = 15s each. But when I do let's say bottom left outside + inside those 15s are just enough to make the picture go from empty to fully white. Same for all other parts... and the program is done without enough time to do the biting (or chewing) surface! And even if i do them by neglecting a bit outside/inside part, there's no sign on the app that it's taken into account as brushing time (unlike for in/out parts where there's an indicator for the brush position). Am I missing something or doing something incorrectly?

Hi there, Alexander, thanks for commenting. When the vibration of your toothbrush changes momentarily while brushing, but still continues to vibrate afterwards, this means the pressure sensor is on. These features indicate when you are supposed to move onto the next section of your teeth via a brief change in vibration. These changes are normal. The toothbrush will automatically turn off at the end of the brushing session. Hope this helps!
