Hey there loves! Welcome back to my channel 💕 In todays video I will be introducing you all to my ragdoll cat named Imogene! In this video I will be showing you all how I brush her hair and the techniques I use. I’m hoping that I answered many of the questions for how to brush your cats hair. Such a lovely video, great how you feel and go with your cats energy 💜 We also use two brushes when we brush our rag-doll. He especially enjoys rubbing his neck and head on one brush that we just hold still for him, while we use another brush/comb daily to give him his daily brush. ( the furminator instructions recommended only using once every 2 weeks) Thank you so much for sharing x

I stopped using those items as they hurt. An ordinary human paddle brush with rounded tips is what we use and afterwards a glove for removing what fur is left. One happy kitty who purrs all the way through 🥰

I can see what you mean 🥰 it all depends on the cat and how they react to brushing. My kitty loves the brushes I have and comes running to me when It’s time to brush with so much purring! I would love to also try other kinds as well as the glove 🥰

Mine loved a brush and I brushed her everyday she loved well the brush is lost tried other brushes and she not cooperating so I have the gloves I’ll try that but she’s not my first ragdoll and they are incredible her mom was world champion so she’s go an attitude

With me I use the catit long haired grooming kit and after a grooming mit. Also in the grooming kit I do not use the denaturing brush unless needed

That brush is the only one that stops my linghair from vomitting up hairballs every 4 days, especially in the summer. She started shedding so much during the heatwaves that her regular daily brushing with a simple comb wasnt enough anymore, this brush is a lifesaver. I use it once a week and she hasnt vomitted hairballs in weeks

Nice video :) My ragdoll usualy wants this treatment several times a day, have some different brushes though without metal teeth on them. He is alot bigger then this lady though and he is usualy not this cooperative (he is strong hihi). But he loves it and always comes back for more. I have a large bag of hair now, thinking about stuffing a pillow or something (allergics be warned).

Sometimes when my Ragdoll, KittenChow, wants to bite the comb, I'll let him bite one while I brush him with the other. It will work for a while (usually). 😉

My Ragdoll absolutely hates to be brushed or combed. The skin on her back ripples because it's hypersensitive. She doesn't scratch but she has bitten me and drawn blood many times in my effort to comb her. Last fall, when she was getting her teeth cleaned and had to have anaesthesia, I arranged for her to be properly brushed/combed while she was sleeping. It was much less dramatic for both of us. I should mention that, although she doesn't like it, she will let me cut her nails and comb her belly. Other than this, we get along beautifully, playing and cuddling every day.

Aww ☺️ Yea they all have different personalities. My ragdoll let’s me brush her. But when it come to clipping her nails she makes it impossible, it’s always a back and forth fight between her and I 😂 Maybe you can start introducing treats as you slowly start brushing your cat in more areas from day to day?

The furminator has a blade and it’s actually a shearer. It doesn’t brush, it shears, that’s why you get a lot of hair.

Yea I stopped using it too often. But if someone does prefer to use it I would say no more than once a week. It’s a deShedding Tool that is designed to remove the undercoat and loose hair without cutting or damaging the topcoat.

I dunno why I feel the furminator is actually 'shaving' off the hairs. Because no matter how many times you pass on the same area hair will still come out. Wondering if using a silicon brush would grab more lose hair? I really want a ragdoll but so scared of the fur situation 😫

I agree I do feel like the furminator grabs lots of hair. I suggest you use it once a week. The You’re actually only supposed to pass it once on each section. After using it once a week I just use a wide tooth comb the rest of the days. The fur situation sucks but it isn’t too bad if you keep maintaining after them, they shed the same as any other cat 🥰 they’re such a lovely breed.

The Furminater pulls healthy hair as well as loose hair. It is not good for your cat's fur. I quit using it when I learned that. I too have a ragdoll really 2 of them.

Hey there ☺️ I don’t do any of that since she’s an at home kitty. I only brush her. I’ve heard that bathing ragdolls can dry out there skin, so I refrain from that 🥰 Especially since they wash themselves constantly on there own

Thank you, what I usually do is I use is the wide toothcomb brush and a wide brush? (I dunno if I got the name correct) and I use a spray perfume that is safe for pets. I usually begin first I spray the perfume with wide comb brush then wide toothcomb brush then back to wide comb brush I usually avoid the belly part because my cats becomes super playful when I do the belly. Is my way doing it correct? Any suggestions?

Hey 😃 that is such a great idea. I usually use the pet friendly perfume at the end. But using it in the beginning sounds nice, I’ll try that out!! As for the belly, my cat also gets really playful too 😂 That’s why the only way for her to let me brush her belly is by lifting her up in a standing position.

cats has a very sweet loving character.. i missed dearly ...i also notice some cats are not clingy to the owners.. im sad..coz thats what pets are for to be close to the owner..and you cant train or expect this from all the cats.. im curious whats the difference between ragdoll and himalayan cats... (ragdoll you can see the rounded cheeks and deep blue eyes.. but this one in the video resembles the himalayan also??)

Hi, I'm, a new person and I owned a ragdoll kitten, but for some reason.. it keeps running away. it has been 3 days since a owned a kitten as a ragdoll. but I don't really understand. How many weeks, months, or years does it take for my cat to trust me? I think that I always make issues with my ragdoll cat, Simba, a kitten. but she always runs away, gets afraid, or randomly scratches me. Can you please help me with this issue i am having? Leave her alone!!!! Sometimes cats need months to build trust, and if you take her all the time when she clearly dont want u make it even worse. Cats have really good memory and they dont forget trust issues. She neeeeeds time!!! Feed the kittn play with him/her and let it be if kitty dont want anymore, dont catch her up all the time!!!!

I did when she was a baby. But then I started reading around that it is not necessary to bath them since that tends to dry out there skin. So I just brush her 🥰

You should NEVER use the Furminator on her coat. You are not removing loose fur, there is a razor in it and you are actually cutting and thinning out her coat. The razor cuts the fur leaving the ends jagged. I wondered why her coat looks so thin. It should be as thick and fluffy as her tail.

Honestly mine too. When I brush it really does make a difference. But yes after two hours I noticed the hair is back to flying everywhere.

Please, don't ever use a Furminator on a Ragdoll! They are for undercoat shedding, but Ragdolls doesn't have undercoat!!!! Edit: I saw that I'm not the only one who mentioned that. You seem to be pretty allergic to criticism... Please read a book and don't just try and see what happens. Your cat could have such pretty furr... but what's left of it is really sad for a Ragdoll! 😪 I would never do that to my precious Ragdoll girls! 😪

What, so you say never groom hair on a ragdoll? My Ragdoll get sick of her fur, me too. I would like to shave her hair short to a millimeter, why should this be a problem?? Never thought about it

No il furminator non va bene sui Ragdoll non hanno il sottopelo il gatto rimane pelato per favore non fatelo! ☹️☹️☹️☹️Pettine e cardatore e basta. no guys the furminator is not good for ragdoll. the ragdoll has little undercoat and remains bald! only comb and carder! you are shortening the hair of a cat that may have long hair! it is stripped do you see the long hairs sprouting?

If we were to judge any product everything has its good and bad! The furminator is not meant to be used daily. My kitty has full hair and loves when it is time to brush her. I can honestly say after a few months I stopped using the furminator (not because I saw any harm) the wide tooth comb I have did the job perfectly. It’s good to research any product you buy and perfectly learn how to use it the right way. If you are brushing with a furminator then it is known not to brush the same area twice, only one pass in each section once a week.

@@hananmajid No! The Furminator isn't meant to be used on a Ragdoll at all. That's not an opinion, that's fact. And you have ruined the fur of your cat already! I have two Ragdoll girls and their fur is way fluffier. Please read a book before you get such a precious Animal. Really Really sad!!!!

@@nujetzaberhier long hair are sometimes a threat for this lovely animals, especially in hot summer days otherwise would you like to puke a ton of hair evry freakin day, sweating and constant itching and pulling due to tangles in the hair?

Hey there 🥰 I’ve noticed with different types of litter some can smell more than others. But now I use one that smells great. But the only way to keep it smelling good is by scooping every time they use the litter box. I usually do it daily to keep it fresh an clean 🥰 I have the litter from Amazon linked in the video description

Gosh ... on any given day, I get 8 times more hair off my cat than you did! I've never had a cat with so much hair shed!
