I would love more videos like this. You explain and break everything down so clearly. I so appreciate you taking the time for these how to videos. I love that you not only paint for us but you tell exactly what your doing. By the way I could watch you paint all day oh wait that’s what I have been doing😂. No just kidding...(kind of). I’ve waited other artists and it seems like they just assume everyone should know exactly what to do. They neglect to mention you need more water for one technique or are not clear on what stroke they are using. Your an amazing teacher thank you!

I'm so glad I found you. I studied painting in a group with a private instructor while in high school and took a minor in painting in college but no one ever demonstrate brushes or how to use them.

Wow, that is a lot packed into one video! That truly helped me out. Thanks so much!! I am careful with water for blending as it does make paint more transparent, but in some cases that works in your favour. Just depends on what effect you're trying to create. It's a journey all together and practise makes for a more experienced artist.

I loved watching this Joni, you described so well, and I found a lot of my problems especially with blending and the use of more water. I am a slow painter and I needed this. I am one of your Patrons and have painted many of your paintings and now hope to do better!!

Very recently I started painting as a result of a work dinner involving painting. It was the first time I picked up a paintbrush in over 35+ years since leaving college. I used to be very good at art throughout my school years, and after our painting at the work function it renewed my interest. I feel my artistic side has been reawakened. I wish I had found your channel before beginning. I've ruined a few things because, though I've been watching painting videos, most of them didn't have any tips or words at all so I couldn't understand why my colors weren't blending or that I could use water to get certain brushes to work better or what the brushes were best for. Wish I watched this months ago because I paint acrylics in my garage which was 100 degrees and the paint was drying on the palette faster than I could get it on the canvas .haha, I'll paint in the winter now in the garage. I do watercolors in the house year around. 😀

Great for beginners. You almost demonstrated that each brush can do all jobs if used properly. Also a volume of painting can be done and yet look natural if the brush, loaded properly with right strokes and amount of water is used. Thank you.

Love it, this is awesome. Many of the strokes I use have been from watching your videos. I have been practicing much in the way of techniques. Lots of trees lately, the making of branches and leaves. Highlights and soft tones. My gesso has been used a lot lately.

I’ve been watching your videos for a while now. I love your work and have been inspired to have a go. This video came up as my gesso was drying. Perfect timing! I would really love you to do more videos like this one, I learnt such a lot from it. Particularly I would like you to show, slowly, how you use the chalk brush in your fantasy paintings.

This is good when you don´t know how or for what a certain brush are used for, and when you´ve seen someone else use it, it´s less scary to try them out yourself. Thank you for sharing :) 💜 I was one of those who found my fave brushes kinda quick, though, I´m still trying new ones just to see if they work for me too, like the soft makeup brushes ;) lol cheap and very handy!
