An irregular income just means you don’t get paid the exact same each paycheck. It can make budgeting a bit tricker . . . but not impossible. In fact, you’re just six steps away from showing your money who’s in charge. (You.) 👊

Thanks to Rachel (literally), I finally just created my full first month's budget using their app!!!! First time in my ENTIRE life that I've ever created a written budget 😭 I hemmed & hawed and resisted for decades...and now that I finally did it, I can already see with my own eyes the power of it!!! I am soooo so so so grateful--thank you Rachel for your kind spirit and amazing way of explaining these things to clearly...you have a gift for it . Thank you 🙏🏼

I like making mine to where I have budget markers each week to keep me on track. And it requires me to have a bit more at the end of the mine than the middle since rent comes at the end of the month. I made it uniform though so I have the same amount to spend weekly and I never go below 1000 at my lowest point. Crazy that there’s not more information out there on budgetting that’s useful and simple like this video!

This was helpful. I think more content should be made for people with a base salary + commission income. I see a lot of videos on just straight commission wages but nothing where there is a base and added commissions and quarterly bonuses. I feel most of the videos created by Ramsey are very helpful for salary or hourly workers could use more content like this for earners that make a little more over their base with the commission that comes in. I am experiencing a challenge of budgeting on my lowest earnings but see that it is much easier when I look at my average income over the last 6 months.

I don't have paychecks since my husband and I are both self-employed. Should we set our income to the total of all our monthly expenses and then adjust from there?
