I write down every thing I spend money on. I have cut down on so many things. Most of my money used to go on food and clothes. I have managed to save £500 in my savings account by stopping buying unnecessary things

Hi there really enjoyed this video, was wondering if you could give some advice for people who are on a minimum wage zero contract (£8.72 per hour at the time of writing) with different hours each week and how you can make the most out of the money coming in even with it being a different amount from month to month

Evening Ken, slightly off subject. What happens if your investments go over the FSCS limit of £85,000. Say you’re an isa millionaire - how would you spread your millions so they’re all safe & not outside of the FSCS window of full protection?

Hey guys, I really enjoy your videos, keep up the great content! What advice would you give to someone who can save consistently (or, beginning to), but then faces something unplanned like needing to replace the boiler. How would you recommend getting that out of the way and still being able to consistently save? As, a new boiler can easily be an extra £150-200 per month for 2 years, if not longer. It's sometimes a frustrating situation to find yourself in when you want to save X amount. Interested in hearing your thoughts. Thanks

SOOOOO glad I found this channel! Financial independence here I come :) Hi Ken/Mary do you invest back home (I assume by your surname you're Nigerian) and do you recommend this?
@TheHumblePenny
@TheHumblePenny 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Lady F, welcome to the home of Fearless Dreamers 😊 We currently don't invest in Nigeria, although there are amazing opportunities (e.g. in tech) out there. We aren't close enough to things at the moment to gain enough comfort. Anyone who invests there has to think very long term because short term changes (politics, FX, etc) can frustrate the short term investor.
@ladyf5217

@@TheHumblePenny Thank you for your response. I was definitely thinking longer term as countries like Nigeria, Ghana and Rwanda seem to be growing economies that I would love to invest in.

I love the comparison of budget vs actuals! I do that with my projects at work but have never thought to do it with my own finances - totally doing this at payday, thanks!

Absolutely, Victoria! 😀 There are many things that the best of us do in our jobs but just think of applying to our personal lives. What's your day job out of interest? Watch out for our videos next week on high paying jobs.
@victoriavicious8815

Thanks, yes the videos next week sound good! I do apply the “Moscow (must have / should have / could have)” when deciding what I should spend my money on 😀 I’ve worked in IT for a Bank for many years, been a dev, project manager, finance manager and have just moved into technical management - love my day job but don’t want to still be there when I’m 65, want to be retired and travelling the world long before that!
