I just bought 6x8 arrow with floor kit. Thinking of just setting it on blocks like the ones you have but completely covering shed area with them. I will use chain link posts buried into ground at each corner and screw shed to them for wind stability. Cant do much with these floor kits as they need to sit on level ground. I have pressure treated gold, i mean 3/4 plywood for floor and pond liner to wrap under bottom of floor assembly before wall install. Hope mine goes well.

Very well done video explaining everything. A good resource for building the floor. I"m sketchy of the concrete blocks you used. The weight is not centered on the concrete blocks so they will tip over time. The stores have concrete blocks that stay centered under the walls.

Mine is 3" off on the diagonal measurement. plywood hangs off. is there a way to pull it and square it up, or do I need new 12 footers? they warped overnight.

Just my observation, probably doesn't really matter because it's a steel building and you're not putting that much weight in it, but those corner 15x pads, perhaps you could move them out so that the corners of your joists are not sitting flush on the corner of those pads? Maybe have those corner joists more in the center of those pads? Just my observation.

Why don’t you just put the shed base on the concrete blocks, saves time and money ☺️

Some blocks are like 1 to 2 dollars too. Make a concrete block patio and done. Add cost of lumber, plywood, concrete cheaper.

That's a lot of wood to make a platform for your shed. You could of done it cheaper with some pavers, base, leveling sand, permasand and some 2x4 treated for ground contact. Its solid support, no height adjustment needed, and you don't have to worry about animals getting underneath. That all being said, you made one hell of a base, good job.

You mentioned keeping the shed walls away from the fence but you didn't say why. I was planning on putting mine within a foot of the fence on two sides and the gravel covering that last foot. I'm trying not to eat up too much of the yard.

the city or officials can make you move it.. you need at least 3 feet to walk around and cut weeds and small trees

Please let me know, how was the base attached to the concrete slab. For me, it doesn't seem to be secured. During heavy wind/storm, the whole shed may slide out of the concrete block. Please advice.

I live in Houston tx we dont get wind.. securing is up to you.. I did NOT because my building is being used for heavy items.. welders, hoists, air compressors... I probably have 2000 lbs in it right now... now I did secure the metal building to wood floor very good... my building is not going anywhere...my building is also temporary

Just bought this same shed for $720 it was $100 more at every other lowes except the one closest to my house for some reason so it might be worth checking around different locations. I'm adding up the materials for the floor now and its looking like $450. I might just skip the 4x4s and add more blocks under it since I don't ever plan to move it. Just the 3 4x4s are $100 and 1/2" treated plywood is $200.

@psychogat3
@psychogat3 8 ай бұрын
@@cmcc8947 worked out good its been like a year and its full of stuff and holding up. I think I ended up putting like 12 of those square pavers under it. the only problem I did notice is the way the doors are made water drains into the door tracks but the tracks are on top of the wood so a little bit of water gets in by the doors whenever it rains.

@@chriscraft2 nice. I'm gonna probably give it a little added support interior wise on the shed itself as I live in nw Illinois and don't want to walk out to a collapsed shed due to snow. I think 2x4 framing will be stronger than their "upgrade kit"
