Working out in your backyard can be fun! Follow along as I take you behind the scenes of how I built my outdoor Calisthenics gym park that also functions as a Ninja Warrior Course and a Jungle Gym.
Within my backyard gym, you can do Pull ups, Push ups, and Dips on the bars. I also have built monkey bars into the setup as well. I have attached mountain climber grips, various ninja holds and a climbing rope to build up your upper body strength as well. Every want to try out the Salmon Ladder? well I have that too! There are even gymnastics rings and a play swing attached to the jungle gym. This project took about three weeks to build but it was well worth it!

That is a beautiful job. I really like how you integrated the different stations but it’s all basically one setup. I’m definitely going to steal some of your ideas for mine. I’m starting on Sunday weather permitting. The only thing that is giving me pause is how tall to make it. I’m 5’6 my little nephew is 4 years old an small. I’m thinking if I make it 6’ it would benefit us both. Yours looks 9’ above ground. Anyway what do you think. I’d appreciate any advice.
@VFit4life
@VFit4life 3 жыл бұрын
My highest point is 8 feet. I wanted the setup to work for me and my kids so that's why I incorporated different height bars. Your little cousin is gonna grow so I think you should put the bar higher than 6 feet. You want it high enough so you can hang from it without your feet touching the ground. Hope this helps and glad you like the setup.

Did you consider 6x6x12 instead? Also, just like you cut grooves for the 10x12 planks, did you consider cutting grooves for the salmon ladder? Great build!
@VFit4life
@VFit4life Жыл бұрын
Thanks, yes, 6x6x12 would have been the ideal way to go. The only thing is that they cost so much more! However, the 4x6x12's have held up great over the past three years. No wobbly movement at all. The way I have it set up in a square pattern, the weight and load are distributed very well around the build. The salmon ladder came after I set up and erected everything, so it was easier to do it that way. They are bolted on very good, however.
@ericwanner7966
@ericwanner7966 2 ай бұрын
I was wondering about if you put footings down at the base of the holes first? Like a layer of cement at the bottom. And how didi you get the posts to be approximately the same hight? It would be difficult to get the holes precisely the same depth, right? I'd be tempted to get them close and then trim the tops of the posts after the fact but 4x6 would be tough to do accurately. However you did it, it worked extremely well. I'd settle for just a set of adult monkey-bars to begin with. Nice work on the project and the video!
