I think it is also pretty funny like everyone in every tutorial says "You don't have to worry about this" like I came here to worry about this I want to understand, not just watch you create a game and try to copy everything.

*Things I gathered and inferred from this video:* •Unity has a lot of pre-built *components* to save time and research on common game elements such as object collisions. • C# is the main programming language in Unity. •Assets are stored in folders. These are things like scripts, images, etc. •Child elements follow around their parents. •Unity looks for variables at the top of the script. In this case you used: •Rigidbody2D - squarey in this case •Transform - the Empty Object •LayerMask - the whole *ground* layer. •Physics2D seems to have a lot of useful physics functions, such as OverlapCircle •Vectors, used in linear algebra are described by Vector2 (2D) and Vector3 (3D). Thanks for sharing this video! Please move the artsy head and keyboard shots off to the side so we can still see what you're typing. Please demonstrate the process for putting a Unity app on a smartphone. It would have been nice to see the change of number when you changed the speed. Cheers!

@@mastercode7851 you just need to know one, I recommend C++, C# or Java, but stick to it, many beginners think they know 25 language because they know what an array is and how to use it in them, that's not knowing the language, instead stick to it until you can make something pretty great with it alone or with a framework

Yes you can build it as a WebGL app. WebGL can then easily be converted to an Android app

Great video. It explains everything really well. People say the game is really good, but it would I've been better if you extend the time a little and added things like coins, power ups and obstacles.Then the game will at list have something that makes it unique. I've already watched the video before now and it helped a lot. It's still a good tutorial for starters who want to make games. I highly recommend people to watch this video.

Worked for me after watching 20 times. He zoomed out to showoff his screen at crucial moments. Thanks! One question, when jumping between platforms, squarey rotates and the whole canvas rotates with him. Is there a rotation property I have to disable somewhere? Edit: Select Squary, Go to the Rigidbody 2D properties on the inspector, Open Constraints, select 'Freeze Rotation'.

What is the best route if I want to make something more like a utility? Like interacting with other applications, getting text, setting multiple timers, doing calculations, selecting pixel regions on the screen (circle, rectangular) and save an image of selected area, comparing images etc.?

Great Video. Did everything shown, and added freeze rotation z axis for sprite to avoid spinning. Hello there. After doing everything (code) at 5:20, I get 7 errors, Such as "error CS1002: ; expected", "error CS1519: Invalid token '=' in class, struct or interface member declaration", "error CS1001: Identifier expected" (3 times), "error CS1031: Type expected", "error CS1022: Type or namespace definition, or end-of-life expected". Any fix for those problems? Thanks

hArrY'S wORLd Follow the link in the description to set up Unity + the SDK. It's just some downloads then clicking 'Next' a lot. Once that is done, you just plug in your device and hit 'build and run'. You need to turn on Android Debugging but it's all in the links and pretty easy :-)

Visual Studio comes with SDK but you need to download it manually. I think Visual Studio + Android SDK's is 50Gb +

I have a question, Why did you use rb.velocity.y when you want your main character to go horizontal. Shouldn't it be rb.velocity.x? If someone could explain me it'd be great. I m little bit struggling right now.

Hey the velocity that he use has two parameters the values between the brackets the first being the x he sets it to 3 to move 3 places to the right if it was -3 it would move to the left then he says velocity.y to keep the velocity on the Y-axis that the object is at. That's why the jump Axis is like that also. hope this helped.
