You could cap your throttle on a 5” and manipulate your curve to make easier to fly smooth. You can also take off the cinewhoop ducts and use the 3” as an acro quad.
@CesiumSalami4 жыл бұрын
That's what I was gonna say. Throttle cap (which can be done in the DJI goggle menus if you're using their controller or OSD of Betaflight or setup easily in an OpenTX transmitter) or motor output limit (and maybe S3 props) and you can get the same throttle resolution of the Squirt ... granted it's still physically bigger and still a flying law mower, but it's nice to have options :)

Good points. I almost went with the CineWhoop myself...but decided the 5" FPV was really what I wanted in the long run. I think FPV's are like Cameras...they're isn't going to be just 1 that gets the job done. Each one has it's own strong points. This is why you see so many FPV folks have multiple FPVs. Different types for different needs......great video to point out the big differences though. Got my 5" FPV on the way...can't wait to get it up in the air. Still on the flight SIM in the meantime..... :)

your 5in can fly longer if you suck at flying, and you crash all the time, the pack never discharges fast enough and your battery lasts like 10min. like last year when I sucked at flying, my packs lasted like 8 min each, and I had like 6, so I was at the field for like N hour. But now that I am good, my packs last 2 min, because I practice on race track, and maintain full throttle, due to short throw stick.

RideWithOKP you have to soft mount any GoPro that isn’t a GoPro Hero 6 due to the gyro processing in order to use ReelSteady with it. You could use a GoPro with hypersmooth but many people prefer the look of ReelSteady. Therefore Hero 6 is the easiest option as you can hard mount it with no issues.

great info, only thing i would add is don't give up on 5inch and slow flying, it is possible, the prop motor and quad weight combo should make the throttle feel as precise as the other sticks, so if you can't raise or lower the quad 2inches at a time, try different combo, props usually.
@TheMadmacs4 жыл бұрын
another tip is use throttle to go down and pitch to rise up and let forward momentum do those fine adjustments in height. the combination of slow flying through trees or whatever and ridiculous punch outs and dives back to slow stuff, is a lot of fun and makes for some fantastic shot sequences

@zachmachina4 жыл бұрын
Yes. I've heard of people putting ducts and a gopro on a 4" baby hawk. But 5" is just the inbetween of of 3" and 7". This dude spends way more money than you need to though. You could have a cinewhoop and a 5" for the price he spends on just one of those quads. I haven't done it but buying an Eachine Tyro79 kit and putting it on a reptile cloud 149 frame is only $110 dollars and seems to fly perfectly fine. That's a cinewhoop for $110. I just bought a pre-built 5 inch quad for $175 last month. Yeah, you'll get more out of more expensive versions, but sawyer is paying big premiums for no reasons other than he can afford it without flinching and he hasn't really done the research to know it can be done cheaper.
