Hey Austin. A longgggggg time silent subscriber here. Prolly my very first comment here on your channel. Used to watch you 1080TI builds since 2015 -2016 (university days). There are many key sellers and free tools available to activate Windows 11. I tried several sources, including eBay, but they all stopped working after a couple of months. It was frustrating when my Windows kept deactivating. Once, my laptop crashed, and I couldn’t reactivate the key because it was no longer valid. Then I found a great company and haven't had any issues since. Their prices were also fair. (Already activated 2 years)

30 years PC technician here. The components you should not skimp on 1st is your PSU ( Power Supply ) , second component your motherboard

I've heard cheaper supplies tend to not last very long or sometime catch on fire, is that true?
@Gigatechi7
@Gigatechi7 26 күн бұрын
@Akszew Never mind catch on fire 🔥 they can pop and takeout all the parts in your build. I personally have never had a psu catch fire , but maybe that is because I don't buy cheap power supplys. Just buy a Quality PSU from the start . Sure, quality psu can also fail and have bad moments, but most have protection built in so they don't fry your PC if they decide to pop. Cheap PSU , you get full power load directly onto your components that work off DC. Think of your PC like building a house , you are not going to build your house directly on the sand ,you will put a good foundation first, using a cheap board and psu is building directly on the sand , it's all good till the tide comes in.
@antop4597
@antop4597 10 күн бұрын
i always spend at least £300 on a psu, and it's always platinum rating minimum, also it's a good idea to do some research on EXACTLY what ram and speed your motherboard can support, i've seen too many people spend money on ram and can't enable xmp because their ram type and speed aren't supported by the board, this is especially worse when it comes to DDR5

Nice to see a realistic PC Build video. Just replaced my 3060 with a 4070 Super and had no idea about the new power connector. The MSI Card I bought recommends not to use the PCIE Splitter cable (came with my Corsair 650w)to the adapter. So I found a Corsair replacement that just has the one new connector straight to two PCIE power ports on the power supply.

@@disguiseddv8ant486 Mmm that's not really true, an 8-pin connector doesn't 'provide' 150W, it tells the card it can draw *up to* 150W from that 8-pin plug. You can plug a split 8-pin into two connectors on the card and the PSU will happily provide up to 300W through it. Whether you're comfortable with that is personal preference, but the 150W standard is way below the dangerous level for up to spec cables.

Awesome job on the explanations of what things are and what they do. Great guide for first time builders. One thing I would say is if you do throw away your boxes, make sure to cut out and keep the serial numbers for warranty purposes. I have only had to RMA like 3 things in the past 20+ years but I was thankful that I had those serial numbers. Also, even though it can be a pain, register your stuff if possible. I have seen friends fight with an RMA because they didn't have a proof of purchase and the manufacturer used the date the item was made and not the purchase date. Again great video!

I wish we had a Micro Center here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Or at least, I wish it would open sooner. There's a Micro Center opening in Q4 2024 at the old Bed Bath & Beyond on Stevens Creek Blvd. in Santa Clara.

2:33:33 the yellow color GPU connector is a safety measure after the melting connectors drama. The Idea is, after connecting it to the GPU you won't be able to see the yellow color, otherwise it's not properly connected.

Did I, an IT major with plenty of experience both building and repairing PCs, just spend 3 hours watching a "how to build a PC" video? Yes, yes I did. Did I enjoy every minute of it? Yes, yes I did

hi austin. Am from India. I love PCs and tech. Had seen PC building before but none of them explained in such depth and in such easier way. I dont think i ve ever watched a 3 hr long video which is outside the scope of my field of study. Thank you so much for the effort you have put in the vid and the way u do it makes us love doing pc buidling. Thanks a lot again. You inspire me to keep loving these stuff and tech in general. btw this is my first video watching you build it. Popped randomly in my feed and for once am thankful to the algorithm

36:26 Molex connector is not for floppy disk drives, you don't pinch to install, you pinch to help you remove it, not all of the molex connector have those "pinchy" ejectors.
