Hi, first of all I must appreciate of what you are doing and keep it up :) I actually want to build in-wall aquarium. The measurement I want are as follows 54" x 24" x 48" (HxDxW) I was thinking to make a wooden frame and fit the glass on both sides (front and back). The suggestion/help I need for you is what glass thickness should I use? Also as I'll be using plywood for the sides. To waterproof this, is liquid rubber good choice to go with? Or should I stick glass on the sides as well on top of plywood? No issue with budget... Looking forward for your reply. Thanks

First off i love your set up and your videos. I am getting back into the fish keeping hobby and would like to know how big of an aquarium can go on the 2nd floor. I live in a much older home which i heard were more sturdier then newer homes and i have a spot picked out for the tank against a load bearing wall.

Its AWESOME! It would be perfect to use as a marine aquarium with lots of SPS since its not so high and you wouldnt need that much light, and you can look inside from all four sides. But PLEASE dont make it a bare bottom tank, it will look so much nicer with even a thin layer of fine sand, some mangrove-like roots with some plants tied onto the roots (not in the ground), just like the stingray aquarium in the "Aqua Terra Zoo" in Vienna! Thanks for making this videos.

Hey Joe, glass tends to get a bit more dangerous when used for tanks any larger than this so I was wondering if you knew if there is there a material out there that acts similar to Acrylic but cannot be scratched (or at least is as scratch resistant as glass)? I'm looking into building a 500 gallon (long aquarium) for my baby Common Pleco :D

Sweet build and system ive raised fish as a hobby for Over 35 years my largest tank to date. Was a 2 piece tank of 250 gallons total it was. Acrylic and i got it for free because a freind of mines Dad got it for free as a part of a remodel then my freinds wife didn’t. Want. It any longer in the decor so all i had to do was remove the 2 tanks and all of the components by a certain time frame i say was because of a medical condition i had to leave the tanks in a residence i lived in temporarily recovering from the health issue i do plan on building my next tank out of glass and around the same size of yours but a different. Design Probably. Similar. Construction a i am a retired Wood worker with over 20 years of professional woodworking experience And more than that as a hobby and passion of mine i am very much a DIYer and it includes building some of my furniture as well

Joe: Merry Christmas. Always great videos from you. I was wondering about your thoughts on an aquaponics system for this 500 plus gallon aquarium. Using solar and wind power to run pumps the amount of water you will change will be dramatically reduced. I'd be interested in your concept, pros and cons, of such a system. You do the best videos. Thanks.

Hey Joey, I've just found a really good light source for aquariums its called induction lighting. It seems to be making my corals and plants very happy , it has a natural color light and it produces almost no heat, Seriously Dude you can handle a lit 200 watt bulb with your bare hands. Just something for you to research if your interested. I replaced a 400 watt MH and a 400 watt HPS with two 200 watt induction lights my reef has never looked so good and my chiller never runs anymore.

Hi Joey, I have a problem, & I really hope you can help. Recently I got a used 55 gallon glass tank. The tank had been used to keep tortoises for quite awhile, & at some point, the tank sprung a leak. It has some 'repairs' that are quite, um messy. Joey, there is silicone EVERYWHERE ... the corners look as tho a vegas showgirl exploded. I know, I shouldn't have bought it, but it was $10! So, can you do a video about cleaning up and fixing a sloppy patch on an old leak?
