How To Build A Pod From LittleBigPlanet

In this video I demonstrate how I built the pod that I made from a while ago, as well as a brand new one that uses a smaller scale. The original post can be found here:

Since I made that post I've received quite a lot of interest about sharing the process and files used to create the pod, so I hope that this video helps any of you who are interested in creating your own, or anyone who might just find it interesting. As mentioned, the templates can be found here:

This is quite a bit different than any other video that I've made for this channel, so I am a little unsure of it, but I hope that you like it. You know, I never quite understood why LittleBigPlanet didn't get more stuff like this as official merchandise. You would think that for a franchise based around hand-made environments and characters, you would see a lot more plushies and crafty stuff like this.

they're still there and i'm pretty sure that sumo made patches for lbp1 and lbp2, sony just wouldn't give them an exception past the qa deadline

Super cool, I love how accurate it looks! I built a mini pod a few years back, but it was too small to fit details like the controller or entrance. I’ll have to build this one once I get the chance! Another cool craft idea is to make the LBP1 interactive music track boombox things (I was able to make one out of cardboard and I fit a small bluetooth speaker in it) :D

I just finished building mine and it looks amazing! I did it on A4 paper since I didn't have any A1, and it was a lot more smaller but it still looked very good! Thank you tas for sharing the piece files with us, you are amazing!

try poking small holes on the top side fins just above the middle circle to tie some thicker string through that theoretically should be able to hold

It was more about my method of attaching the string to the roof of my house that made it too heavy. I found that getting the string underneath two of the wings works pretty well for attaching it to the pod though.

...It never hit me how big the Pod is actually supposed to be, relative to the DS3 controller. Huh. ...What if Sackboy's canon height of 8cm came from playing with the scale until they got the "twiddling the Pod controller" look right, then figuring out what that scale would be in the real world?

About how long would it take + does it work on card/paper or do u need cardboard?

I guess you don't technically need to use cardboard, it's just about the thickness of whatever you're using so all the pieces can slide into the slots properly. You could even make the slots smaller if what you're using isn't very thick.

The pod would be much smaller, but I don't see why not! You'd have to find/make a Playstation controller that would fit with it though.
