Neat job...one of the best videos I've seen on rain barrels...since your overflow drain is smaller than the water inlet from downspout, does water overflow from the top of barrel during heavy rain?

Thank you! We don't get much rain here so it doesn't reach the overflow hole. If you do live in a climate with a bunch of rain then definitely increase the size to 1-1/2" or so. Should be easy!

Nice video. Even with the down spout filter, are you concerned about shingle gravel coming down the downspout and into your rain barrel.

No. I haven’t found that to be a problem. It will happen over time but the mesh net filters it all out of the rain barrel.

You didnt include the pvc flange you used at 9:07 in your total costs at the end. Also, why use a mosquito netting if you're covering the hole? Thanks for the video!
