Hello Mai and thank you! This one took approximately an hour. But if I had to add a water source (oasis and/or water picks it would take a bit longer). They usually take me between 1-3 hours.

I have to say from all of the tutorial videos I’ve seen on KZfaq .. this is by far my favourite as you’ve used flowers than others wouldn’t use otherwise! Everyone sticks to the same usual roses and eucalyptus but you’ve shown that you can use so many varieties from just your back garden If only you could preserve this .. it is a shame that flowers don’t stay fresh for long

@PassifloraStudio2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary Anne! Thank you! First off, I would get pricing from your local wholesaler to price your florals accordingly (don't undercharge!), and then I just do an hourly labor cost for the time it would take to build the arch. Hope this helps!
@megandenham2911 Жыл бұрын

I’ve made an arch on site with chicken wire once, but I found I’ve struggled with some falling out and not staying in place, and running out of room/ bumping into each other’s stems as I kept adding more! How do you avoid this?
@PassifloraStudio2 жыл бұрын
Hi Shey! You take the chicken wire, and lay it out flat. Then you fill it with some sturdy greenery (I like holly, etc) and roll it up. This makes a perfect base and things don't fall out as easily. Good luck!
@chrisshoup11874 жыл бұрын
How many hours will this last with no water source? Sometimes the weather is extremely hot with the sun beating down and won't flowers start to wilt?
@PassifloraStudio4 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris...great question! I always make my arches right before the ceremony that way they're super fresh, and some flowers hold up better than others. These spring flowers definitely wouldn't hold up in the heat, so I would either water tube the tender ones or use oasis as the base under my chicken wire. Hope that helps!

How long do the fresh flowers stay fresh for in the installation. I'm shocked no water was used!! I've never made one with fresh flowers. Do you ever use a water spurce for these installs?
@PassifloraStudio2 жыл бұрын
Hello! For our normal installations we do always use water. Usually we use water picks and chicken wire. The other option is caged oasis bricks. Freshness depends upon the weather. The cooler it is, and if it's out of direct sunlight, the longer the blooms last. Hope that helps!

This arch is beautiful. I am curious about the logistics of wedding arches. How far in advance can you make them? You make them indoors and then move them to a location for the celebration? Do you mist them to keep them fresh?
@PassifloraStudio2 жыл бұрын
Hello, and thank you for your kind words! I usually make them 4-5 hours ahead of the ceremony. I typically do not use oasis, just wanter picks, and I mist as much as possible, especially on hot days.

how long in advance can you make something like this? how long doe the flowers stay fresh?
@PassifloraStudioАй бұрын
Hello! We always do our installations as close to the event as possible. So, if a wedding is at 5pm, we would have our installation completed by 3:30pm. We water pick our florals and spritz them with water to keep them fresh. :)

@PassifloraStudio Жыл бұрын
Well, most of these flowers survived out of water for four days, as they were traveling to me. But, I definitely recommend using some sort of water source when creating something like this. Water picks are our go to. Hope that helps! xx

How long do these archs last without water?
@PassifloraStudio Жыл бұрын
Hi! That is dependent on the climate/weather when you're building it. In full sun, and heat, it will not last long. If it's very cool and in shade it will last longer. Also, different flower varieties last longer than others. Hope that helps!
@maggieprentice68963 жыл бұрын
If you were using floral foam, would you place them inside the chicken wire and secure with the cable ties? Also how far in advance could you do this if using water source, or how long would you expect the spring arch to last as it is?

Ode to Spring yes! Here, in the San Francisco Bay Area we are well on our way into the new season. I'm a freelance designer and will be doing my niece's wedding in just a couple of weeks. I love the loose-ness and garden feel to your design. Here is my question: what are the logistics for your method using just a cage and no floral foam? How much time would you allow yourself to build this but, most importantly, with the variety of florals used what is the expected longevity? Thank you for sharing your art, talent and information with all of us!
@PassifloraStudio Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words Frances! I wrap the structure/frame with chicken wire, and attach it with zip ties. We water pick the blooms that we know we need constant hydration and try to stay away from florals such as hydrangea (would have to use oasis or some other direct water source for this). I allow 2-3 hours for an arch such as this one (4+ for more lush arches). Longevity of the florals depends on weather (heat, wind, sun, etc). In cooler climes and indirect sunlight, you can quite a long while out of the blooms. If hot and direct sunlight, you have to keep things misted constantly, and can expect it to last through the ceremony and possibly several hours after. Best wishes on your niece's wedding florals!
