I like post in the ground but I did build one, My wife's she shed, right on top of a deck. Which reminds me , I got to secure it to the deck. It's been sitting there for couple years without anything holding it down.

No its not a silly question, the answer is yes, its is bolted down to the concrete pillars using large L shaped brackets and M12 hammer in through bolts
