Thomas Renner is the man who knows what makes children happy. He builds playscapes and playgrounds. No two pieces of playground equipment are alike. All structures are custom-made and individually tailored to the location. In short: Renner and his team build unique pieces. SWR Handwerkskunst accompanies the playground builders on one project: a tree house for children. The centerpiece is the house. Attached to it are: Swing, climbing net, rope ladder and slide. In other words, everything a child's heart desires. The highlight of this tree house is the construction method. Branches and trunks are to be integrated into the house. No branch is sawed off, no root is injured. The tree should remain completely undamaged. And that is not so easy. The woodworkers have a plan, but they have to decide spontaneously on site how to build around the tree. They saw curves and recesses, they adjust, resaw and sand smooth. That's how it goes with six carpenters, for six days. A lot of work and wood went into this tree house. But it's worth the effort, because the children like it!
