I like how you put the planer under the table wing, good use of space!

I like that this is removable so it won't get in the way when it's not needed. I have the DWE7485, and it's miniscule infeed makes some things tricky. But I didn't want to attach something that would make it hard to access the front controls. This looks like a great compromise!

Great video. I have the same saw and am building my infeed exactly like yours. I like it that you can still operate the fence with this design. A simple solution that works! Keep at it.

Just ordered this saw with the stand for 300. Don’t plan on using the stand much rather I’d like to build something g similar to what you have done. New to this all and my primary concern between this and the 10” dewalt was the in feed . Thanks for the information

Turn the miter gauge around in the slot and cut it that way, or build a panel jig. Both of these will also work without an infeed table.

Great idea and execution! I'm excited to stumble on your channel because 1) it looks like you've got a lot of helpful content, and B) I'm also in the Chicago burbs (Oak Park) and have a new(ish) youtube channel built around a bench I made. We're like twins, only you're better looking!

@@TheSuburbanGarageWorkshop Yeah man, fair warning: I might try and organize some meet-up or collaboration or other such nonsense one of these days. It might just involve staring at walnut slabs while eating beefs and drinking Old Styles, but it's still something. You've been warned!

Great video! Looking for the next modifications you intend to make! Any particular reason you didn't also cut an extended miter slot for the one to the right of the blade? Would make it compatible w/ a deeper miter sled if you ever need that in the future, too, no?
@TheSuburbanGarageWorkshop
@TheSuburbanGarageWorkshop 2 жыл бұрын
It could absolutely be done. But, In the years I used my saw, i've never used the right miter slot so I didnt spend the time route the other slot. On the infeed if you did that, then you would have to move the fence fully out of the way, then you couldnt use it for infeed support for when making rip cuts on the long boards against the fence.

You have a very good video and explain things really well. I have a 7491 and I don't have the ability currently to put my table saw into any kind of fixed Cabinetry. I'm trying to find a video that would let me put and in feed platform that is easily removable. My saw stays on the cart all the time because I have no room to really have it set up. I have to put my saw away every time I'm through using it. Even though I can't use your idea, I appreciate how will you explain it.

Very cool and this is exactly what I wanted 👍👍. But just one query about your two turning nobs, just wondering they will get loose over time as the wood threads will eventually get worn out. Maybe it’s better by using two insert screws and the turning nobs then screw into them…😂
@TheSuburbanGarageWorkshop

It uses metal inserts, and the knobs screw into those.

Add a dowel to each side of your infeed table and two holes on the work bench to locate the infeed table quickly and your not searching for the existing holes, just an idea.

Nice design and video. I have this same DeWalt saw and have a good out feed workbench based a heavily modified Paulk work bench but, of course, not having any in-feed it’s hard to use many of the jigs I’d like to make. I did make an in-feed addition which after many modifications seems to work ok but, it’s big, bulky, needs extra support and not always accurate for matching up to the miter slots. I believe I will use your design soon and appreciate your providing your simple but very workable design.
