Learn Excel Pivot Tables Yes I really did. Is it also possible to link the data to other worksheets so it can be updated?

Fischer12345 Fischer, You can have your data in another Excel workbook or an external data source like Microsoft Access and your Pivot Tables will still work. All you need to do is to make sure to Refresh your Pivot Table when you open it to update it with the changes made in the other workbook/Access database. For info, Mac 2011 doesn't support slicers which is very disappointing, I was so looking forward to trying this out. :-(

Great tutorial. What if I have external data. Can it be imported without building the Dashboard from the start again?

Hello Joey, Your data can be imported from external data sources and placed in a Data sheet within your Excel workbook. When you create your Dashboard, this is created in a new Sheet. Whenever you press Refresh All, the Data sheet gets updated (importing the latest external data) and then the Dashboard sheet gets updated automatically. Thanks for this. I have created pivot tables and graphs from various sheet. How do I get percentage difference between each of them. Eg: A graph - this is for task to show time taken in different scenarios. The pivot graph has this for different version run. i.e blue is for V1 time taken in task1 under scenario1 and red is for V2 time taken in task1 under scenario1. I need comparison (percentage difference) between V1 and V2 time taken. Please let me know how to achieve this ?

Excellent Presentation to follow & execute, John. My only question is could you do a line chart for the costs with the same axis points as sales? Having the costs above sales gives at a glance that the biz is unprofitable. I know this you tube is completed but..... I'd like to know visually & verbally why costs were listed above sales. +Rick Darcy Hey Rick, To put the costs on the same axis as the revenue you need to select the costs line with your mouse and press CTRL +1 and from the Format Data Series you need to select Primary Axis. Sometimes when you have Sales in the millions and costs in the thousands the line gets lost, so I wanted to demonstrate that you can show the costs on a Secondary axis. I hope this helps.
