Today on Dirt Lifestyle we are building an 18 lb. off road winch bumper! Building with aluminum doesn't need to be difficult. This entire project was built with a spool gun so you don't need to be an expert Tig welder to build fun projects with aluminum!
Will aluminum be strong enough to withstand the abuse from hard core off-road trails? Lets find out! Enjoy the video and stay creative!

I bumped into Nate at KOH at the Ford Bronco display and was blown away that he immediately dropped what he was doing to come talk to me. Genuinely a super nice guy and very easy to relate to. Appreciated the time Nate.

*Love the minibumper. With spare delete you dropped 200 lbs. I liked the steel eyes on the frame ends just because I pull all the time from weird angles and I like to be able to pull one high, and the other one low occasionally like if you're 45 degreed on a single track its easier than being dragged straight off when you're steering the opposite direction. Either way put your truck on a diet saves gas, reduces ft lbs neccessary to pull you out of a bottomless hole and trust me, you notice 1000 lbs less lunch the second you stomp on the gas around time.*

I really think you should have kept the shackle mounts you had on there at first. My truck has a pair of those hooks like you currently have but they just aren’t quite as versatile as shackle mounts.

Good clean work! I think it's too squared off. I prefer the corners to be angled up for more clearance. I also like the bullbar a little higher.

Why wouldn't you use propane instead of nitrous? I was always under the impression that propane injection was the way to go for diesels. Ymmv I suppose, but propane is easier to get too

I agree that being lightweight is a crazy advantage that people overlook. Looking forward to watching your ideas on this as I'm doing the same. I'm working on aluminum sliders myself. Other items to consider... soft doors, lightweight battery, aluminum tailgate, and a composite hood. More realistic for you... maybe trade out the big steel skid/link system for something lighter but I think that'd be a hard pill to swallow.

Holy Cow!! Nate great job, I dig the new winch bumper and the weight loss!! 38lbs dropped just from the bumper. I know you like the stinger, I did too but this bumper is very sleek and goes with the lightweight theme you are pushing for. 4,000lbs is a huge goal and you are definitely starting in the right direction. Enjoy KOH and I cant wait to see what's next!!
