Very helpful! Thanks for posting. Are those 2x8s for the landing or 2x6s? Also, do you see any issue with using 4x4 posts to build the outer support frame? Thanks!

I can't provide lumber sizes because they can be different on different projects.

Is it possible to buy stringers that are wider steps and shorter rise or would one have to custom make them?

I've never seen them and you will be better off making them yourself. If you're going to build a straight set of stairs, get the book How to Build and Frame Stairs, if you're going to build a set of stairs with a landing, get the book How to Build and Frame Stairs with Landings.

How wide can this style be without a center step stringer

I can't provide you with engineering information, but can tell you that I've seen 4 x 12 treads that were 4 foot wide.
