Takes me back. In New Zealand I built one, age 14. At 15 there can get m/cycle licence; I did so and registered bike for the road (daylight use only). Used it to visit friends. Freedom !!! :)

Back in the day, we didn't usually build these as nicely! Seems simple, but you have to keep your wits about you, the rider's life depends on fasteners being properly tightened, brakes secure, etc. This project turned out so well, looks great, it's an heirloom now!

I was looking at the other power sports rascal kit, it`s a little more beefier frame and the rear brake is a caliper and disc, but it`s $900 with no engine or clutch, this is just fine for a younger kid and I think for just under $500 for a new mini bike, it`s a nobrainer. Nice seeing dad and daughter doing a mini bike project, well done.

Love watching this. I had a 1970 Cat Eliminator when I was 13. Loved that bike and really wish I had it back! Thanks for sharing this. Takes me back!

The front wheel is like that on most mini bikes. Doesn't affect the way it runs, Great video, very thorough tutorial👍🤙

I picked up a used bike a few years ago... The motor was bad so i finally bought a harbor freight motor and my daughter and i pulled old motor last weekend

@@workingmansrestorations7071 Yes, clutch breaks are fine as long as you are not riding in an area like a street or around cars because if the chain snaps you cannot stop the bike. Just be very careful and have lots of FUN!!!

I put one on mine. Inexpensive and makes it more durable. Working in making our own frames and selling them but Covid19 put a damper on that for now.
