Tom Schreiter joins Will Barron on this episode of the Salesman Podcast to discuss the importance of building rapport quickly and how to go about doing just that.
Rapport Comes First
The show is kicked off with Tom explaining the importance of rapport in the world of business. He highlights that there is no possible way to build trust or a relationship with someone if there isn't some kind of rapport there first.
"They don't engage with people they don't believe" - Tom Schreiter
Tom then shares the importance of making a solid first impression. This can only come from preparing and getting yourself ready to speak to prospects before you launch your pitch at them.
"Usually their decision is almost instant" - Tom Schreiter
The show is wrapped up with Tom describing the importance of speaking to prospects who are pre-sold. There is zero point in trying to build rapport and 'sell' someone who isn't interested when there are so many better opportunities out there.
Guest info:
Tom "Big Al" Schreiter has 40+ years experience in network marketing and MLM. As the author of the original "Big Al" training books in the late 70s, he has continued to speak in over 80 countries on using the exact words and phrases to get prospects to open up their mind and say "YES".

I'm not into any sales profession of any kind, however I need to 'sell' myself regularly at interviews to win contracts. I'm always polishing up my sales skills when preparing for interviews. I just watched this as part of that preparation, had a é hour long interview (was supposed to be a 30 min call originally) and smahed it. Sales skills are a life skill and is appropriate in so many aspects to achieve your goals.

@@theredninja2817 nah this video title attracts the wrong crowd, dude needs to be honest with the titles or find a better way to grab attention other than lying. clickbating is stupid. I’m most definitely not watching all of this. I’ll read comments though to see if they highlight anything

Don't commiserate just to be more alike than different, in attempt to improve chance of rapport. If anything, do the "pace and lead", acknowledge your client's grumbles, and pull them out of the mire with something ameliorative or consoling or good humour or realistic optimism ie- 2 - Smile etc. as I just put in words. Don't talk politics or society's ills just to build rapport because that will bring you down into their miry pit and you'll seem unpleasant and they won't like and therefore won't trust your miserable offer.

@@SalesmanPodcast Deceiving yourself into believing that criticism is a sign of success. Is a delusion that we are all susceptible too. Of course success will bring more criticism, but that's because, the standards you are held to are now higher, and will continue to be so. The world hopes that those who draw attention will be able to provide something deserving of that attention. Perhaps consider, that this video is fart too long. Considering the misleading nature of the title. You may feel some dupers delight in having tricked people into watching. That's just justifying dishonesty & you will pay for it in the long run. Sacrifice now, get better & win. I know you know this, just a reminder to be as great as we all know you can.
