Julius, love you technique and awesome videos. May I suggest to never add weight to balance the plane! What ? No, use your batteries! Either move them forward or put bigger batteries in to counter-balance. This not only allows you to balance the plane, but gives you more flight time for free !! Those dead batteries you put in will eventually leak acid. Keep up the good work. You might consider posting your builds/videos on FlightTest to get more interest and promote the hobby. Love the paper/PVA covering idea. Cheers.

Hey Julius, I'm watching this one to whet my appetite for the next build whilst building your Cherokee which is going together marvelously. I just thought I'd share something with you, I used your technique for bending the foam with heat gun and metal pipe, I overheated my first attempt but the second one was much better and I found that instead of heating up the foam and bending it over the pipe, I was using a 20mm x 3mm steel pipe so I heated up the pipe with the heat gun first so it's fairly warm to hot and formed the foam over the heated pipe and as the wall of the pipe was 3 mm thick it held the heat for quite a while and the foam seemed to conform a lot easier albeit for a little bit of extra time. Love this aircraft and will definitely be on my build list....cheers

The one I've been waiting for!! I can't wait to try to build this. I'm limited to 3mm Foam Core Board... But maybe I can remove the Paper, and double the sheets with PVA glue.
@CarminesRCTipsandTricks4 жыл бұрын
It is simply stunning!!
@JuliusPerdana4 жыл бұрын
3mm can be use too, I once build 2 of this plane using 3mm. But a bit modification on the former and firewall. Make it bigger about 0.5 cm
@CarminesRCTipsandTricks4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice! I'll make note of that on the plans.
@oneeyemonster32624 жыл бұрын
DONT remove all the paper...i can get pre colored ..such as cub yellow. I can build a 45" CUB...flies on 2212 1100kv or 930kv on 10 x4.5 props on 40amps esc, 2200mah 3s ....I'll get 7-10 mins...depends how i fly it. it'll do loops, roll and the basic manuvers.... I'll actaully re enforce the inside of the fuslage with 1mm ply wood. for crashes or rough landing....Instead of adding nose wieght. AUW is 850 plus grams....but it has good wingloading. Its a FLOATER I can also build a 30" on 2208 1400KV 30amp esc on the same 3s 22OOmah pack..for 7-10 mins...it's not that bad...8x5 or 9x4 props Ive crashed it 10 times..made repairs...ect. The model stills flies it's probably 350 AUW....it's my basher aerobatic model. I can fly with with 1600mah pack....but I like it on 2200mah better :-P I DIDn't REMOVE any PAPER... Id probably install a 2217 or 2220 ( case size motors) they'er cheap......( under $10 -ea) I Have wazooo 5000mah 3s 50C...lmao. I'll use that instead of dead nose wieght.lol Lighter iSNT always BETTER.. I need WEIGHT to CUT through the wind.. It's just a matter of choosing the proper POWER plant to the model. i used to play NITRO... .40 size are around 6-7 lb AUW. I fly .60 size such as 4 star...it's in 8 -9 lb AWU. I used to beef it up.....install re inforcment or even CLIP the wings.lmao .60 flies better than .40....Becuase the .60 will CUT THROUGH the wind better...dosnt get toss around in 10-15 mile WIND...lol THERE"S NEVER a nice calm day where I live... You just need proper air space or a regular R/C field.....or 1/4 mile flying box

Julius I think you are easily in the top three DIY foam plane builders on KZfaq!!! Besides you’re amazing skill with A blade, you easily have some of the coolest designs I’ve seen in my 13+ years of watching KZfaq videos on airplanes.. The one thing that I keep wondering about After watching video after video of yours Is, how do your planes hold up after the first flight or two? I noticed you don’t use a lot of carbon fiber spores or tubing. I just really curious how durable they are if you get a little bumpy landing or something like that? I just want to add thank you very very very much for all your time and effort and most of all your videos showing these things!!! 👍🤗😁
@JuliusPerdana4 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. My planes still hold up for maybe 3 months not because it broke up by itself but because it crashed, sold to friends. It still can handle hard landing. But broke mid air or hard landing? Never happened. But I still fly sky arrow regurally every week for FPV

First , I am envious of your building skills. Then age has stolen a bit of my eye and hand ... please excuse me, I get off subject. I decided to build this little bird, and had a fit getting it to print had to reduce size to 98%, then once printed the wing tips came out as jagged lines. as if points oerived from a smaller curved line ..., anyhow I shall free hand the wing tips.
