Dude, you rock! I have long been one to "engineer on the fly", but I am impressed. You have skills. And you did it on the ground with a few tools! It's reassuring to folks who don't have the Norm Abrams/Tom Silva workshops and tool collections that one can still turn out a functional and well-built project. And Bailey is a real sweetheart! I think she would get along great with my pittie, Riley (whose name was Bailey for one day till my wife changed her mind!)

I love the idea of the flip top door !! I kept looking for some type of hardware to make it work but this is grate !! I might do a big single door for the shade and thay way I can roll in my work bench !! I have no in a mobile home park so this will be a grate thing !! Awesome job !!!

This video is a good example of keeping it simple. I have a tendency to WAY over think and over engineer things, when a simple sketch and some on-the-fly problem solving would do just fine. Great video!

Very cool. Like the dowels on the one door. Could be a 'secret' door if the other was just a wall with no hardware. Wouldn't need a lock because no one would be able to get in and out quickly.

Nice job. Just what I was looking for.

I’ve spent all day looking for shed ideas until I stumbled upon yours, I like this design with the exception of a little wider and also I want both doors to tilt up and I am going to add gas struts strong enough to hold both doors I think two struts per door should be fine. The struts will be placed similar to those found on suv hatch doors and they should hold. Can’t wait til start my project.

typically you want to angle the roof where it wont dump water on the door side of the shed and ideally away from the house.

Nicely done! Wood glue would have been a good idea on those small pieces.

This is pretty cool.I was wondering why you wouldn't slope the roof the other way. Rain falling off the back end would allow for using the shed more conveniently. Could capture with a gutter and control it with a rain barrel.

First off, I'm from the future 2021 when lumber costs an arm and a leg. So you probably will be taking the shed with you, Ekkkkkkk! Nice "temporary " shed. I need to build something similar but with lumber being so outrageous these days a plastic shed might be cheaper though not near as fun and customizable. Very nicely done John. PS: thank you for not blowing my ears off with the music. A vast majority of the people that do videos these days seem to think it's funny to blast their music at 2 to 3 times the volume of their speaking voice. If one adjusts the volume down for the music, you can't hear the speaking and if you adjust for the speaking your hearing is damaged by the music blasting.

you tube suggested your video - guess it knows gems ;-) I have built a few sheds and although My sheds are good for me - I am wanting to extend one of my sheds - your video + video editing + presentation are top notch ;-) I simply love your idea of lifting door to create shade :-) this part of your build I will steal (the idea ) the arms to lock in place and dowels as hinges are great mind me for saying - why did you not make door open higher as you would bump your head at the height you made ? but still an great idea pal :-)

Planning to build a shed also beside my house for gardening. Noticed that you builded it without ventilation gaps. Dont know your locations climate but how is the the moisture level after 1,5 years? Here in Finalnd moisture can get high and mold start to grow with deficient ventilation.

You inspired me to build my shed. Unfortunately I ordered my lumber from Lowes and got complete junk. They failed to pick it up as well. My dream is mostly ruined but I will try and salvage what I have. I'm going to Home Depot from for future lumber.
