In this video I show you how to make a bench vise out of scrap metal. This is the second video of a 2 part series on this build. In this video, I build the handle, finish the drive system and grip plates, and grind everything to a nice shiny finish. I smashed a piece of 2x4 wood and 6" square tubing at 0.23 wall thickness with ease to test out the new rig. The thrust bearings make for a smooth and powerful clamp and the inner spring gets rid of any slop in the drive system. I am very happy with how this vise turned out. My welding table has been very useful but I am tired of using clamps to hold everything down. This steel bench vise will come in clutch for both large and small projects that I am working on. Hope you enjoy!
