Jon, the way you approach furniture making reminds me of when I apprenticed with a cabinet builder as a teen. Very practical (and stalwart) construction with thoughtful design elements. It’s very American and I just appreciate that everything doesn’t have to be dovetails and dominoes and whatever other fad techniques are floating around. Thanks for the years of encouragement and for putting your plans out there for the everyman utilize.

This is definitely a elegant looking piece. How you ran the grain direction on the drawers front is interesting to look at, but nice. And I do like the length of these instructional videos, a lot of the details would be missed.

Hi Jon, Another great build mate. I really love the treatment you did on the legs, makes this two drawer desk really stand out. Also a perfect video tutorial as well. We have just downsized into a three bedroom unit and I can see making this desk down the track after we settle in. Thank you so much for your time and effort you put into everything you do. I very much appeciate it. Kind regards, kmdc in Oz.

Another great project and clear explanations. Your project is always easy to learn and follow. Just one question, why did you leave the plywood edge open in the drawer sides? That's not normally what you do.

Would you ever use veneer or edge banding on top of the drawers so it looks like solid wood and hide the plys??? It’s a nice look piece but opening the draws to reveal the plys irks me.

I think you have a point Steve… if I were to build it again I probably use solid wood on the drawers. On the plus side it is a very high-quality Plywood with a popular core.

Beautiful work Justin! Thank you for your channel! I just had one question as to why you would use a more expensive maple plywood and then cover it with veneer? Wouldn't it be more cost effective for a sanded plywood if you were going to cover it? Just curious....thanks!

Why did curve on legs seem more attractive than say a straight taper? Did the four legs end up square on the floor? How about pads on the feet if you are using this on wood floors. Nice work! I appreciate how you respectfully include sponsors - recognizing the need for that in your revenue model. There is no sense in starving when your content is so good. The days of everything should be free are over. I had a digital magazine which was driven to almost zero revenue because of the subscribers unreasonable expectation of free content. Cheers!
