How to Build your own Sheds and Barns || Tutorial || The Sims 4 Cottage Living

Hello there Travelers!
In this Video i will show you how you can build your own functional sheds and barns with Cottage Living!
I will use the Build Mode Version of T.O.O.L. by Twisted Mexi to resize the barn as well as to help me with Item Placement, but don't shy away to try it without the Mod as well!

outside of just making a barn this made me understand so much about how build mode works (with shadows and routing) and how you can work with that. That was great, thanks.

I think maybe he just didn't scale the shed down small enough that the remaining tiny shed didn't get in the way of accessing the area for cleaning. Hmm. Now I want to try it without TOOL.

I wanted to build Marnie’s ranch from Stardew Valley for so long now and was so disappointed to find out that you can only have one animal per shed, but THIS!! This is so helpful and just what I needed!! You're a lifesaver! Thank you so much for all your work!

how does the shed work when feeding the animal?

@@thenakedartist just like it would with the big sheds! You click on the shed (thats why you dont want to cover it up completely) and choose your activity, your sim will go inside the shed and disappear, you will see animations and when your sim is done they will appear back! Same goes for cleaning the shed, woohooing or else!

AMAZING JOB on your first tutorial!!! I didn't even think to elevate stuff from the basement for the stables - I created an indoor one and the animals kept bumping into the objects I put inside hahaha I will definitely use this trick! You are a GENIUS - love everything you create!

Wow! I love this. It's beautiful! I have downloaded T.O.O.L. several months ago, and updated it after new packs but never dared to actually try it. This is very motivating, though. This is amazing !! I did figure out how to make extra sheds n I used the bathtub as a mini pond but using it for the animals is super. Great job on your first tutorial . Even for us console players 👌🏼🤩👍🏼

What happens when the animals go to sleep? Do they disappear or stay there? Also wondering what happens when you need to clean the shed - do you have to click the tiny shed from the bucket?

Yes and yes :D There are some states where you will still be able to see the animals in the shed, but with most occasions where they go inside they just disappear! Same goes with Sim when they go inside to clean the shed, which yes, you do by clicking on the little shed leftover! That's really the only reason why you want to still be able to see the original shed!
