As always man great info no BS straight to it love it! Maybe do a video of what to do maintenance wise when getting your first drift car or what maintenance to do after events or how many events till you perform maintenance on it. KEEP YOU THE GREAT WORK!!!

This is a great video! I've been building an S12 with an SR20 and the thought of drifting and damaging it is enough to keep me from even wanting to try. A v6 mustang on the other hand... not nearly as heartbreaking
@WXSTANG3 ай бұрын
I dont' drift but in regards to the diff. I used Redline dif fluid but without the friction modifier to make it slippery. It chirps sometimes around corners now. Might have helped without the welding. BTW good video.

great video man i had a couple question what is you wheel and tire setup and what hand break did you go with and if yours has a reservoir on it what size you would recommend also what shifter you use or would recommend

Damn that’s it huh? Bought a new edge v6 for 300 and tried drifting. Seems the drift alright. Maybe I’ll drift it around but also restore it so not drift missile per say

@hle.racing4 ай бұрын
@jaydenrain It's only really noticeable when you do tight turns, park, or drive in the rain. It's definitely not ideal but it's not that bad tbh.

Been thinking about building one of these for a drift car. The prices on these are a bit cheaper than the g35/350z at the moment.

keep the good content coming. 360 cam for track dayz???
@hle.racing4 ай бұрын
Thank you! I'd love a 360 cam but I think I need to figure out how to incorporate a gopro first lol.
@GabrielPlummer4 ай бұрын
i do agree but the 360 gets all the angles. maybe a go pro on ur harness bar and 360 cam on back for inside outside pov. i love the v6 stang content and the channel i wish it would blow up so we could see more badass content like maybe a turbo 3.8 driftstang. there really isnt any good v6 content besides yours. keep on keepin on pimpin @@hle.racing

@GabrielPlummer Thank you so much for your kind words! Honestly, you've motivated me to definitely make the move to incorporate at least gopro footage for the inside. Next event will have gopro footage!

Thanks for this info! I’ve been working on a v6 build. I have a couple of questions What do you think of a 7.5 spool? Does the Scotidi angle kit fit a stock mustang knuckle? And does this eliminate the sway bar link?
@hle.racing3 ай бұрын
So, I don't know what you mean by a 7.5 spool tbh. The Scotidi Kit does fit the stock knuckle, but you do have to widen the holes where the outer tie rods go into the knuckle. (Out to 5/8) And yes, it does eliminate the sway bar mounting point. Hope this helps! 👍
@marcuslangston14653 ай бұрын
Thank you for replying! I think I’m gonna go with the Scotidi kit, and I might just weld my rear end. I was learning about dips in class and my professor was saying that I could also use a spool to lock up both axle shafts
@hle.racing3 ай бұрын
@marcuslangston1465 Ah ok, yea maybe that's some old school drag racing tech lol.
@marcuslangston14653 ай бұрын
Hey! Last question for now, is the Quick Angle Spindle Adapter Kit necessary, or can I do without?
@hle.racing3 ай бұрын
@@marcuslangston1465 If you're talking about the big billet piece that goes under the knuckle and connects to the outer tie rod, yes. You need that.

Are there any lsd available besides doing an entire 8.8 rear end swap? Want to get a v6 new edge and daily it so I don’t want to weld the diff
@hle.racing4 ай бұрын
To my knowledge, no there isn't. But look around, maybe there is one now! I haven't looked in a while.
@TmachineDan21383 ай бұрын
There are, but your best bet is to 8.8 swap and rebuild the diff. Thats what my car has, a fully rebuilt 8.8 and it never fails me to lock up when i want it to
@605_manny3 ай бұрын
Have too you thought about doing a V8 swap?
@hle.racing3 ай бұрын
Yes! I do plan on doing a swap to the GT drive train at some point.

Are you still running the stock rear gear,
@hle.racing3 ай бұрын
No, the man I bought the car from said that the previous owner before him did a rear gear on the car but he didn't know what size. I'll say, it didn't feel too different from my last V6 that didn't have a gear job.

Are all LSDs unpredictable or do you think its the one you tried?
@hle.racing2 ай бұрын
I'd say it's mostly the one I tried, but it's more about the fact that it was a stock LSD. You can upgrade the LSD with an aftermarket one that locks up way better, but you're going to pay 700 to a Grand for it. Why do that when you can weld it for a case of beer with a friend? Hope this helps!

What about the V8's!?!?!?
@hle.racing2 ай бұрын
Since the 4.6L V8s already have more power and a limited slip differential from the factory, I'd say the only difference is you don't have to weld the diff before your first event. Just put a racing seat in it, a good set of coilovers, and take it to the track! Although I think you'll be sick of the LSD opening up on you by the end of the first event lol.
