Buying a business isn’t something they typically cover in high school. When I was growing up, the idea of being a business owner was nowhere on my radar. I didn’t even think of businesses as things to be bought and sold. Then, in 2023 my husband and I bought a laundromat, and I quickly discovered how much I loved being an operator.
My goal with this series is to demystify the business buying process and make entrepreneurship through acquisition more accessible to everyday people. You don’t need an MBA or a trust fund to buy a business. You do need to be willing to put in time and effort, and you need to understand how the process of buying a business works.
