How to buy a car in Australia?

Guys a car is like a lifeline here. I am using public transport everyday and it is stressful. You have to go grocery shopping every week and without a car its very difficult. DONT FORGET TO GET YOUR INTERNATIONAL DRIVERS LIENCE BEFORE COMMING here it makes the process easy and FAST. I have made a mistake of not getting a licence and getting a Australian Licence from learners takes a very long time

Way to go Mayank! You got a really good deal, I got my 2008 yaris for 6k with 140k mileage. It's pretty zippy and reliable still, but I think I could have saved more If i didn't buy from a car dealer. The only advantage of buying a used car from a reputable dealership is that you don't have to worry about the car's road worthiness and often comes with warranty. Which I needed coz I'm one of those girls who's absolutely clueless about vehicles 😆. I guess apart from petrol, insurance and registration, my expenses for my car included servicing which, in my case, is something I had to do every 6 months. It can range from 120-250 depends on the mechanic and the car's condition to begin with. If you're good pals with a mechanic then even better! Act cute and get a discount 😉 haha kidding!. I would highly recommend purchasing Australian or Japanese made cars as they generally more reliable and parts and servicing are cheaper compared to European or American cars.

‪There is something called IDP which is issued in India (international driving permit) valid for a year. Is it necessary to get IDP or normal standard driving license is ok? Are all cars manual or automatic gear in Australia? Or both options? ‬
