Simple way to understand processors, i3, i5, i7 ranges, i3 < i5 < i7 after that 4 digit is model number ex: 5500U, 7200Y, 6320M take 7200 : first digit 7 is generation presently its 7th gen running, always take latest gen available, 5th gen < 6th gen < 7th gen next 3 digits is also range the higher the digit more performance 5220 is faster than 5120 M is mobile processor means it will have lowered performance for higher battery mainly used in ultrabooks, U is normal somewhat better performance than M, Y is for no fan laptops like surface books, windows tablets, dont take them for programming, K is overclock-able means you can increase its performance beyond its capability, you wont find them in laptops, Nvidia Graphic card is also same 920 < 930 < 940 < 1030

I ended up getting Lenovo P51, love the keyboard, i7 7700K, 16GB, m.2 NVMe 128 SSD, 1TB 2.5" SSD, Quadro M1200 4GB. works perfectly. Wanted more ram and space due to testing code in win 7-win10 in a VM.

I got dell vostro v14 ( core i3 + 4 gb ram, normal hdd, price 33k) what i did was to remove internal hdd and put 120 gb ssd in that place. The removed hdd is put into transcend casing using as external drive. Now space was not sufficient, i got branded180 gb ssd at very low price from ebay ( it is pulled out from laptop, that is given by seller) , it looked like new I removed dvd drive and in that place i put ssd using a casing available in amazon I upgraded the Ram to 8 gb i bet my system works better than laptops with core i5 and normal hdd Having ssd will also increase battery cycle. Go with 14 inch to reduce weight and to increase battery life. 15 inch are bulky i occasionally use VS but use high end FE software frequently

I have Dell Inspiron N5050, bought in 2012. Configuration is a little bit lower. i3 2nd Gen, 8 GB RAM (initially it was 2 GB) 512 GB 5400 rpm HDD. I am Android Developer and It was impossible to use Android Studio in this config, using Windows 10. Then I searched and came to know about Lubuntu. Now I am able to use Android Studio satisfactorily. Lubuntu is very lightweight. Everyone with low configuration system should consider using it. Thanks!

I use dell Vostro 15-3568 Linux machine got it from Flipkart for 41 k. i5-7200u 8 gigs ram and with my Linux mint 18.2 I have the perfect work horse.😊😊

Thank you Sir for this video. All the laptops comes with on board graphics card of 512MB. Depending on the need ,the laptop model has 2GB ,4GB or above of graphics card. So is it compulsory to have dedicated graphics card of 2GB or above for programmer ?. The reason for asking in some offline shops ,people suggested buy a laptop with minimum of 2GB dedicated graphics card which helps in using designing work etc. Also can i get to know whether to buy DOS machine or machine which comes reloaded with Windows operating while buying? Can i get some suggestion on graphics card while buying a laptop.?

He runs macbook because he has more money to waste. Linux and Ubuntu are for hardcore developers, who wants a budget laptop. As windows os will cost comparatively more than linux and Ubuntu for same specification machine. You can get a free copy of Linus and Ubuntu on their official site and also install free windows if you become a part of their "Insider program"

For best Linux compatibility I would recommend a T series ThinkPad or Dell XPS they're officially certified to run Ubuntu and RHEL (or Fedora). A ThinkPad T480 would be a good choice for a Linux user, especially due to its excellent Linux support. You would also like its good keyboard especially while typing out long codes.

Techie Rajesh that is different things. 2gb ram is for the graphics memory and 8gb ram is for system memory.

Yaa of course you can integrate upto 256GB SSD in RAM then it will be (256GB SSD + 4GB Graphics + 16GBRAM in a single integrated chip.) If you want to buy exact amount of RAM then just substract the value from SSD + Graphics.

i think gaming laptop is the best option for running heavy software or IDE like android studio , Photoshop etc.. 2 in 1 :) ,,, I am working with android and facing many problems because of my low configured laptop. And i decide to buy dell inspiron 7000 gaming laptop. It will be good ? or, what should i buy ? any suggestion please. My estimated budget is $900-$1000. Thanks in advance :)
