Just skimmed through the video as I'm already kinda aware of the methods and not been that active in the pokemon scene since the first of the year but looks like some good info, that being said last time I checked a few months ago basically every single box was out of stock or only available through lottery promotions, including single & rapid strike master. I got three volt tackle boxes for around 130 gbp at the start of January 2021 but towards the middle of the year or now I think they go for around 70 to 80 per box. Tag Team All Stars was also like 40-50 per box and then within a few months were over double, now I think the box prices are over triple what I could have got them for... missed out on a good opportunity there :D. Shiny Star V hasn't shot up in price yet I believe

Really though, like most things, research, learn and practice. Americans, as I am lol, but not quite like a lot. I will not go on eBay and pay $7.99 for 1 pack of Vmax Climax!!!!! Blows my mind. I just figure most have no idea how much extra they are paying. Sometimes ignorance must be blissful for some. Not in a mean way either.

Imagine Norway. If something is the equivalent of 35 US dollars (less even, more 32), shipping included!!!, you pay a 10% tax + a flat 15 dollars fee of handling by the post. Makes it so you can’t buy anything from abroad without it getting ridiculously expensive in fees.

I NEED MORE FISHIES!!! Hey Jluv sempai, it's always great to hear your advice and your experience in ordering more Japanese products. Here is my advice to gain more subs and it's free from me. Keep doing more educational Japanese name even if you are opening English pack openings and teach us more about Japan. I know it's more work for you and patience is key but I'm sure you can get those pesky viewers to keep on tabs on you for more Japanese content. Since travelling is limited at the moment, I wish I had the time to travel to Japan before, this is the best way for future travellers to learn and find out about Japan especially from someone who has been to Japan many times. Hopefully I'm able to at least visit Japan once it is ready again and I have a better understanding from your experience there. Keep it up sempai!

You said it... The most cost effective way to buy Pokemon stuff is to buy it in bulk. If you're just buying 1 booster box just buy it from eBay. Youll pay a premium but eBay has your back and usually shipping is faster than economy Japan shipping

Japan Amazon is insanely fast from Japan to America. Not sure if they have pokémon, but that's how i get cds. Usually takes 3 or 4 days.

In Belgium we have it worse... First, there is the 4.7% import fees on top of the order value. And that's product value PLUS shipping! Not just the product's value! Then we have to pay 21% VAT on top of that. Cardmarket sells Vmax Climax for €95 on average. So it's pretty much impossible to buy it for cheap.

It's a huge bummer that every booster box is way over MSRP. But sometimes you can get bb for MSRP or slightly a little over. The crazy thing is. When a store puts out the product for say "$80 dollars." It almost immediately goes up $10 dollars the following week....

Thanks for the video! Would appreciate if you went into a little more details about the costs of forwarding companies. I don't think I've seen anyone in the Pokémon space compare these services in a way that makes it easier for audiences to figure out which one is best for them.

It's because it really depends on you. Your experience with services like buyee really depends on how much you buy. The more you buy and consolidate, the better your end cost will be. Also you need to understand the fees associated with buying something. I need to look into the reshipping companies that he mentioned. that seems like the end game, because they wouldn't charge you a fee for every item you buy, which is the real barrier if you're trying to buy singles

1. Have a friend in Japan 2. Start a Japanese Pokemon card resell business to fund your cardboard addiction... Joking aside, after the first minute I thought you were going to say: learn Japanese. The amiami tip is great, and I do appreciate all the warnings. I may try proxy services some time in the new year for vmax climax singles. The reason? The price difference is just too great. A common character rare is about 8USD on ebay right now. The same card could be as low as 200yen in japan. Even if 50% of sellers are scammers, I am still saving a ton of money. It's about probability - for cheaper items at some point buyer protection is just more expensive than trying my luck.
