Please consider doing a video on pen servicability/repairability/reliability. One of the concerns with the more expensive brands is what if it gets damaged or clogged? Is it easy to repair on do we have to buy a new one? Especially a concern if you don’t live in a country where the brand offers servicing/replacements.

@Dudik285 жыл бұрын
@@PotentPrintables well, I have similar story. I bought this "professional" 3D pen Sunlu SL-300A and turns out I completely disliked it. I have totally overlooked several features and was silly enough to not do my research before buying a product. Now I'm thinking about ditching it and getting my hands on RP900A or RP800A. Have you tried them btw? Oh, and I wanted to say that I love the physical illustrations on paper. They really add to the overall presentation.
@PotentPrintables5 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried the RP800A, but I have the Soyan PR026-3-US, which looks like either a direct knock off or rebranding of the RP800A. The Soyan PR026-3-US has a ton of features for its price. You can see that I have used it in many of my videos (and thumbnails, like the tutorial series). I'm guessing the RP800A would perform similarly. I haven't used or heard anything about the RP900A. Thanks for the feedback on the presentation style- I have kind of fallen into it and am glad that people like it.

I own the tecboss SL-300, mostly because it was the cheapest option I saw in my country. It is great it has all the functions. One thing on this one is that it does have a Hold and release button but you have to double click for it. The scribbler v3 has a double click to Lock, this one is the other way around. Great guide!

On the Tecboss, you can do a hold to extrude if you press and release then press in quick succession. The pen will extrude while the button is pressed, and stop when released. It takes some getting used to, but does work for those short bursts of extrusion.

I currently have a 3doodler create but my biggest complaint is that your stuck with using rods which are really expensive. What pen is out in the market that is still available that will accept reel filaments? Preferably 3mm just due to the amount I have currently. My process right now is to cut lengths from the reel, using a heat gun to straighten the pieces then cut it down to manageable sizes. I'm spending more than half my time making rods of filament as opposed to just having fun. I'm fine with going down in size if there is a reliable and advanced pen but I'm just having a hard time finding any detail around this. Any help is greatly appreciated
@Ima_Tron4 жыл бұрын
Im in the market for a pen, while I can use it for artistic purposes I plan to use it for primarily for utilitarian things, repairing cracks in old toys, modding controller shells and cases, etc. Based on your video and my personal interests, I want a pen that uses the standard filaments (1.75 I think it was), hold to extrude, temperature control. I also prefer something likely to get left on a shelf for 3 years and still operate when I pick it up again, so an internal battery could be detrimental given their intended life spans. Im thinking the Scribbler V3 is my best option, any thoughts on this?

This video really helped a lot for my decision on getting a 3D pen, but I have a problem, I want to start 3D pen on my own and learn it by myself, but I want to make 3D figures not like cubes and spheres but like actual objects for everyday life because it might be more interesting for my type, so what pen should I use for that? Does regular art skills help with using the 3D pen? If it does then should I get the mid starter pen type or the adult ones for experts? If anyone can help then thanks a lot, for the temperature controls is there a thing for it like the effect? Like for example if we were to make a bowl, it would need to be stable or if we want to make a kunai to save the filling more it also would have to be stable right? So would it effect if we make the temperature colder because if it’s colder won’t it be more stable if we are careful enough then if it’s hot won’t it fall easily?

That's a great video guide mate for beginners. I have some of them including rp800a, 3dsimo multipro, basic etc. The major advantage of rp800a and 3d simo multipro is the low diameter of nozzle which allows you to draw smaller details with better precision. So far multipro, and polaroid play are still working perfectly while on rp800a and some cheaper pens that i have they got broken nozzle or damaged motherboard. I always work with a pen for 15-20 minutes max as a precaution to extend its life
@PotentPrintables5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, appreciate it. That's good info about the nozzle diameters- I wish more 3D pen manufacturers posted that type of information online. The amount of specs posted varied greatly from pen to pen, which I wish wasn't the case.

@@PotentPrintables Yes every pen has its pros and cons (nozzle,motor speed,lifetime). I forgot to ask you how good is the scribbler v3 ? It looks very comfortable, and i know that 3d pens doesnt last forever eventually.

@3D Plastic Fantasy It is a very nice pen. The motor control of extrusion and retraction is among the best (if not the best) of the pens I have used, to date. I haven't used it to make anything large yet, but I will be using it in an upcoming video. So it will be interesting to see how it fairs through that.
@davidare5 жыл бұрын
Im planning of buying the rp800a, in ur experience, do you recommend it for long teem use?
@3DPlasticFantasy5 жыл бұрын
@@davidare Yea sure its definitely a good choice, you have to be careful tho to take a break every 15 or 25 minutes max as a safety precaution because the plastics are heating up inside and the nozzle might break. Another pen you could look is the polaroid play, its the only pen that still works well since i bought it in 2017, but it doesn't have LCD display, nor temperature regulator and it only supports only pla plastic.

I am coming back here after finding it really difficult to find the right pen as when I download the check lists, you mention things to look for. So last time I watched your video I gave up, as you talked about the best pens but I could not find out from video what pen brand or model name to order. So we just bought one from Best Buy which clogged and broke after 2 hours. Would like a high end pen that does not stop working. I really wish you had said which pen was the best for each category. My computer is slow and maybe you do say in one of the many links you provide to download. Have downloaded a number of links and cannot find specifics…. Just checklists of quality to look for. Can anyone tell me which pen he showed in the high end category that appears to have temp control and stop start control? The reddish orange one? Would love a brand and model name to order it. Other wise it is a shame, such a throughly detailed video…. but leave out the more important detail: name of pen to buy.
