It's an assumption bro....if you consider a wall...it may accomdate by brick and mortar....right !!! So we assume that the mortar quantity for wall as 25% ... remaining all are brick

Good video for beginners however, you have already presumed the amount of mortar as 25% of the total wall volume which is normally not a real world case. There is a methodology for determining the amount of mortar around bricks especially 9" brick walls. Please revise it a little bit.

because i calculated the sand from cement quantity... i you want to calculate sand not from cement then you will have to divide it by 4........ suppose if ratio is 1:3 and then you will take 3/4 where 3 is sand ratio 4 is sum of ratio

sir.. if we have 4.5" thickness of wall then what is ratio???? some people write 1.4...1.3. 1.6
@EngineerBoyOfficial
@EngineerBoyOfficial 4 жыл бұрын
If wall carries more load then 1.3 is ok. If wall is just carrying its self weight then try 1.4

I'm watching it from india, calculation of your mortar make confused, make it clear

Mortar percent is never constant for all type projects and brick bonds. So this percentage can be found in masonry specifications. Lets say mortar is 12 percent of wall’s volume and wall is 200 cubic feet. Then mortar can be calculated as.. Mortar =(12/100)*200= 24cubic meter. So mortar volume is 24cft.

Pls sir help me with this question. Why volume of mortar is 25% but not 40% or 90%
@EngineerBoyOfficial
@EngineerBoyOfficial 5 жыл бұрын
this percentage is based on design which can be given in bond or work specifications, 40% and 90% are huge values, it can be b/w 10 and 30% somtime upto 35%
