For the live load, why you multiply the area by 4? Which schedule that you refer?

how much steel required for a slab on grade 300mm thk to carry a service load of 2.5 tons per m2

How much steel required for a slab on grade 300mm thicker to carry a service load of 2.5 tons/m²? To determine the amount of steel required for a slab on grade, we need to calculate the required steel reinforcement based on the service load and the characteristics of the concrete slab. Assuming a concrete density of 2400 kg/m³ and a safety factor of 1.5, the design load for the slab would be: 2.5 tons/m² x 1000 kg/ton x 1.5 = 3750 kg/m² To calculate the required steel reinforcement, we can use the following formula: As = (0.5 x ρ x fck x 1000) / fy where As is the area of steel reinforcement per meter width of slab, ρ is the steel reinforcement ratio (which is typically between 0.5% and 2% for a slab on grade), fck is the characteristic compressive strength of concrete (in MPa), and fy is the characteristic yield strength of steel reinforcement (in MPa). Assuming a steel reinforcement ratio of 1%, a characteristic compressive strength of concrete of 25 MPa, and a characteristic yield strength of steel reinforcement of 500 MPa, we can calculate the required steel reinforcement as: As = (0.5 x 0.01 x 25 x 1000) / 500 = 0.25 cm²/m To convert this to the required weight of steel reinforcement per meter width of slab, we can use the following formula: Ws = As x ρs x L where Ws is the weight of steel reinforcement per meter width of slab (in kg/m), ρs is the density of steel (7850 kg/m³), and L is the length of the slab (in meters). Assuming a length of 10 meters, we can calculate the required weight of steel reinforcement per meter width of slab as: Ws = 0.25 x 0.01 x 7850 x 10 = 196.25 kg/m Therefore, for a slab on grade 300mm thick carrying a service load of 2.5 tons/m², we would require approximately 196.25 kg/m of steel reinforcement per meter width of slab. The total amount of steel required would depend on the width of the slab.

Sir plz can u calculate 10 feet 20 feet thickness of slab 3inch slab total load
@nicolasmarie4398
@nicolasmarie4398 6 ай бұрын
You can do the same by converting the 10 feet to 3.0m an the 20 feet by 6.0m and the thickness by 0.075m. Is n't the thickness of the slab to thin for such area? Usually it should be around 6 inches for such dimension or 0.150m. Apply the loads as explained in the video. But clearly you need to revise the thickness of the slab. Also even with a thickness of 6 inches, there will be much deflection in the slab and you will need a screed over it to limit water ponding.
