Calibrating the compass and setting compass variance on My recently installed Rearview mirror in my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer.

03-07 Isuzu Ascender,
04-07 Buick Rainier
05-09 Saab 9-7X
98-07 Chevy Silverado / GMC Sierra
00-06 Chevy Tahoe / GMC Yukon
00-06 Chevy suburban / GMC Yukon XL
01-06 Chevy Avalanche
02-06 Cadillac Escalade
as well as any other GM vehicles with Gentex Autodimming compass mirrors.

Cool thank you. I’m now going to set the compass in my 2002 trail blazer with 350,000 miles on it. That’ll be one thing that actually works in this thing.

Mine on the Escalade I just wired it back up got it on now it says calibrate in the corner but then it has like two little boxes on it and when I hold the button I can't get it to go to the different zones

magnetic compasses point to magnetic north.... west-east declination changes....

Mine is a factory compass and tempature. It went haywire so I replaced the comp/temp in front of the radiator and I still have no tempature reading and my compass is off. I only have one zone and it is zone 2 California. I am in AZ can you help me????

That's odd with the zone. You should be able to change it. You likely hacve a wiring issue for the temperature sensor causing no display.

I'm in Puerto Rico, and it is not even on the map. I'm not sure what zone I should use.

the buttons are all molded into one piece of rubber. you have to pull the mirror apart and replace the entire piece.

does not calibrating the compass cause it to freeze at one direction? my compass is only saying South East.

In theory it should just read wrong but weirder things have happened.

the problem was i had a Garmin Dashcam mounted too close to the mirror and the mount has a magnet which was making the compass locked... moved the dashcam away a bit.. now its ok@@pfun41
