great calibration video and why wouldn't you divide your piles with your pick instead of wasting time scooping the whole pile

Did you have auto ground tracking turned on ? If you didn't, why not ? To pinpoint a shallow target just rotate the coil 90 degrees and use the edge.

couldn't help but think the same thing.....leaving the gold for the next guy obviously.

I thought the same. it was a solid signal and I was almost shocked when he said it was just ground noise. He has never dug gold out of calcrete or caprock by the look of it.

It appears that the 6000 is not good when it comes to mineralised ground with slight variability.

I failed to see anything to do with calibrating which was the sole reason I watched. Why don't you wave your magnet over the pile when you first have the signal moved instead of wasting time with the signal in your scoop waving it over the coil a few times & then using the magnet. You then wasted time on that last signal without using your magnet at all only to find it was rubbish. That is what the magnet is for. Was nice to see you got a bit of gold though. :)
