this is NOT "how to calibrate a glucometer " ..it is how to check calibration..why dont you show us what to do if the device is out of caibration

This is not Calibrating. its testing Strips and Meter . Its not changing the function of the meter, Not Adjusting . Its just so you know the meter and strips are ok. If the meter doesnt show readings within the values labled on the bottle , then you try new strips and if it still innt right , then replace the meter.

Thanks for the information. I use the Ambrosia Blucon with Libre sensor, It helps me to monitor readings on the Apple Watch and iPhone, the alarms help me at night. It also has food insight option which helps to show which food effects on glucose and I can track my activity status too like exercise, running etc.

what if the result of the calibration is out of the range? is there a button to adjust to correct calibration? or should we need to replace the whole device?

Thanks for hte video. Now I know what to do for my meter. My only advice to you is to shot the next video in landscape orientation instead of portrait orientation. It looks like we are looking though a slit in a window. All the best!

Can you tell me how to reset the meter. I used this one several years ago and am now using it again, but don't want previous readings to factor into the averages of current readings. Thanks!

Never put the drop on top of the test strip!!! Strip should suck up the amount needed by itself by touching the tip of strip to the drop.

Ok, this is no "calibration". Calibration is required in case the test's result is off. Now, how would you fix that? Check that, 'can' you fix that?

I seem to be above the range. My cgm says 85 and my gm says 240. I used the red control solution and got 174. I'm on the Dexcom 6 cgm.

Well.. this video suggest i will learn to calibrate... i do not see any calibration process... i am not getting the range between the values... now what?

Thanks for your question! Testing your glucometer with a control solution and getting a result within the range recommended means your glucometer is calibrated and will give you accurate results. If you do get a value that isn't within the recommended range, it's is recommended to double-check that you are not using expired test strips or expired control solution. If nothing is expired, use a new test strip and run the control solution again. If you still get a value out of range, something may be wrong with the glucometer itself. For example, excess control solution or other liquid can damage the inside of the glucometer, or dropping certain sensitive glucometers can cause physical damage. At this point, there should be a phone number to call on the glucometer box. If you no longer have the box, you can search for a customer service number for your brand of glucometer online. If the glucometer is defective and you just purchased it, I would recommend trying to return it. If you still have questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

You would have to purchase the compatible control solution for the brand of your glucometer. This may be covered by your insurance. Hope this helps!

so there is no actual calibration of the glucometer? if the test strip tests between the values 125-169 we assume it is going to be accurate with blood glucose levels?

Thanks for your question! That is correct, the value should be within the listed range and that indicates the results will be accurate when you test a blood sample.

If I don't have control solution, can I just use the diabetic's actual blood to test?

Thanks for asking! It's recommended to buy the control solution to confirm that you will have an accurate result once you test a blood sample. If you test a blood sample and don't have a control solution, there is a chance that the result will not be accurate. This can be risky since giving too much insulin can lead to very low blood sugar quickly. Please let me know if you have further questions.
