Other Tips & Info
- For filling cans, use the formula on the video if you care, or just take the can weight + the volume in ml, then add 3 grams to be pretty much be at a great fill level. Overfilling them could lead to can failure with temperature changes.

Canners are a cool party trick, but would be tricky to justify without a business I think. But theoretically they will last forever if maintained and if someone is brewing a lot, why not? I do like mine for the ability to empty a keg into cans when I want to brew and have a full kegerator. Cheers!

There are benefits to both for sure! The BenchMk wasn't out when I bought mine, so I may have gone that way, but I am really happy with mine for now. As you mentioned in your video, the portability of the BenchMk would have been great, mine is a heavy beast! Cheers!

i got a killer deal at my local HBS for the cannular manual model with power supply for just over 400. they were just trying to get rid of it as they said it wasn't selling, and the guy that was working there had no idea what came with it. So he gave me the power supply with it. I paid for it and ran lol. It required a lot of adjusting in the rollers to get it right, but many cans wasted and time taken later..its going great!

Sounds like a great deal! Mine was pretty good when it came, but I definitely gave it the one over before going nuts with it. I've done about 3000 cans so far with minimal problems. Cheers!

Awesome vid! I got my cannular pro on EBay, brand new, for 700 last year but he’s since raised it to 850. Came with the guard, plug, and crowler chuck as well. I also buy cans from the same guy, $99 with shipping for 185 16oz Oktober cans.

Prices have gone a bit crazy in the last year. I think more beer sold the cans for about 100 a year or so ago and they are now 150+. You got in at the right time! Cheers!

Great video and comparison! I have the BenchMK. I think it’s a great option for homebrewers that are doing low lower volume canning. Biggest downside is that you need two hands to run it. Biggest upside is that a cordless drill makes it cordless machine.

Great review and comparison. I have been looking recently to get a canner. At this time, I am leaning towards the BenchMK which should work fine for the amount I am going to can.

Nice, when I got the cannular it was an easy decision, but the Benchmk wasn't out then. I'd definitely be torn between the two now. Cheers!

@@PartyTimeBrewing I never intended to brew commercially. I am too old at this point. I have developed a quick and easy bottling process where I can do 60 bottles in no time. Canning would require a complete revision of process and equipment. Keep dropping the videos Brewtha. You are killing it.

Hey! Currently have a Irish stout that is on its seventh day of Fermentation but my Fg is 1.020 (1.011-1.014 target). My Og was 1.064. I know quite high for a stout haha. My question is how many more days should I wait till I take another gravity reading 2-4? It is still burbling a bit. Or should I transfer it into a secondary for a couple weeks?

That's kind of funny, I used Windsor yeast on mine and it went crazy right away and stopped very fast around 1.022. I just pitched some extra us-05 to see if I can get it down more. Mine was not burbling at all after 3 days. So long answer is it is probably done. There is still a reasonable amount of attenuation. Possibly a little higher in fg because of adjuncts or roasted grain if you used any. Cheers!

That's exactly what Jimmy McMillan told me when I tried to sell him one! Cheers! But in all seriousness, it is pretty expensive with the equipment, and unless you can get easy access to cans, the oktober or kegland cans are pretty expensive in themselves (about doubles the cost of a batch).

Definitely a valid comment. I justified mine because I planned on opening a small brewery. Other than a beer exchange with the homebrew club or just taking a few on the road, I didn't do much more than 200 or so cans until I started selling beer.

Scored a cannular pro and half a box of 500ml cans for $250 AUD, funny it came with that useless spacer part for the non pro version, guy I bought it off must of fell for that scam too 😅

@@PartyTimeBrewing got it cheap because we baught the dudes whole setup before he left the country, mostly grainfather gear I'm stuck repairing now already trying a warranty claim on the chiller . Got 2 fermentors working away so not long until i get to try out the cannular ... And find out what is wrong with it 😅
