Today I show you what Lantanas are and how to care for them. They are a continuous-flowering plant that blooms all season long! They attract butterflies and hummingbirds! Lantanas are very hardy plants and are drought tolerant. They are a perfect addition to your Sonoran landscape.

I read that somewhere too. You literally have to plant them by themselves and allow them to grow out. Thanks for the compliments. I been lurking at other KZfaqrs first couple videos to see what attracts me to them and try to better my skills to bring good content on a consistent basis.

I have read that you can grow them in pots and hanging baskets. In the north, they are considered annuals because the hard freezes will prevent them from coming back the following year. You can bring them inside, but they do emit a fragrance that most people do not like, but they sure do bring in hummingbirds and butterflies to the yard.

@@Szdday Long time ago there were still white Lantana in the local nursery gardens here. Today, its just the yellow ones that are usually available. I have tried checking out online and there are seeds but I dont have any idea if they have high germination rate. Also, there seems to be no guarantee if I'll really get those purple blooms. Months ago I bought live lantana plants online. I thought they were the pink ones (as shown in the pictures) that I used to have. I was quite disappointed for they came out to be of different type. Just trying to bring back Lantana in our garden for more butterflies. I also want to see the blue banded bees again. Thanks for the reply!

Depending on your region, you can get them at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Also check to see with your local nurseries if they typically order them. Sometimes they come in sporadically and I’ll check with different locations from time to time. I finally found Confetti Lantana which hard to get sometimes because they are popular.

I basically feed my Lantanas the same fertilizers that I use on my lawn. But a 1:1:1 ratio fertilizer will be just fine.

I have four Lantanas is pots. One of them (purple) keeps scaring me because it seems as if I never water it . . always sad and the leaves roll up. Another one has its leaves hard to the touch. When touched one would think the leaves are dry. Again, they do get watered one, maybe twice, a week. The other two pots are doing good. That do you recommend?
@Szdday

I find the purple Lantanas do better in the cooler months compared to the other colors. It has the blooms in spring and fall while the red, yellow, and orange ones bloom profusely in warmer months. Do you use the white crystals when using potted plants?🪴

@Szdday
@Szdday 3 жыл бұрын
You’ll need to skip a few days in between. Overwatering them can be one of the reasons why they are not blooming well. Make sure to fertilize it with a balanced fertilizer. Like 10-10-10 or 15-15-15. They really like full sun as well. I hope this helps buddy!!!
