The volcano brought me here. Your bushcrafting will keep me here. The sizzling wok, the sharp tools making bowls, the cabin in the forest. All so nice! Your volcano coverage is exceptionally interesting and very well done.

My hubby is teaching our grandson also how to do this as well. Our grandson is 5 years old. I like how you show the video that even beginners can learn also. And how nature is the only sound heard and the manual tools doing the job. These old skills are very valuable to know for all generations. Thank you so much!

I am in love with your little tea bowl! If I hadn't gotten so very ill and ended up bed ridden 10 years ago, ending my hiking and camping career I would be up in my Alaskan back yard cutting some wood to carve me one for my daily tea! Alas, I will have to drink mine from a mug and imagine it smells of fresh air, trees and wood chips! Keep the videos and my memories coming!

I can remember seeing these tools at sales 45 years ago and no one wanted them, I was a kid then didn't even know what they were. Well done, the wood craft isn't dead yet

I would think that a person needs to know the indigenous wood you can use and what carves out the best and isn't sticky sappy or leave a gunky flavor. Like in western US I wouldn't use juniper for a bowl. Or pine. Maybe others might. The taste n sap. Too bad you don't tell what wood you used even so it's local for you. Still it's real interesting to see what you do. Lovely countryside. Beautiful.

nice job. just one question; if you have your gear/tools, you will have a metal bowl and you won't need to carve one...but if you loose/someone steals your gear/tools, how are you going to carve a bowl?..

Thank you! I made several bowls out of pine wood and they didn´t crack. So I think the wood is good for making bowls or cups. Best regards Ben

Bushcraft Bear I made a bowl out of pine and it cracked terribly.
@Your-Least-Favorite-Stranger6 жыл бұрын
Could attempt multiple fire hardenings of the wood, see if that helps at all.
@ethanbos086 жыл бұрын
Was it dry wood you used to make your bowl? Your supposed to use dry wood and keep it out of the sun thats probably the reason his didnt crack is he didnt have them in the sun a lot
