A lot of interesting things on my Instagram page: / soul_of_siberia
How to cut a mug of wood? In this video, I show in stages how the process of cutting a mug from a tree occurs.
I use raw birch. After the mug is cut, it must be wrapped in rags and put in a bag. Rags need to be changed every day. After about three weeks, the mug will be dry.
In this video, I show how I sharpen my ax. For cutting mugs (kuksa) I use the Japanese craft knife Kiridashi. This knife has one-sided sharpening on the right side. The left side of the knife is straight and has a dol, as on Yakut knives. Which facilitates the sharpening process. It also reduces the contact spot with the cut object, which makes cutting easier.
A wooden mug (kuksa) is perfect for bushcraft trips. Kuksa (a wooden mug) is a very warm and sincere thing. It’s nice to sit with her near a fire in the forest.
