By the way, I went snowboarding for the first time in December and due to your videos I went down a green on my first day and was able to carve on my second day riding which was really fast learning in my opinion. The way you put things and have little drills to create that muscle memory really brought it all together for me and accelerated my learning. Thank you 🙏🏼

I use those to the maximum - I start and end along with lifts. So I really hope it'll get me somewhere eventually - hopefully before I'll grow too old to do this. Anyway, thumbs up! @@tommiebennett You're unique! Everyone on KZfaq, (including myself sometimes😅) does how to's solo... which is fine, and you absolutely have to in order to keep producing regular content. But you coaching people is literally showing new viewers you're the pro coach and you work with people. It doesn't have to be all you do, but for sure I think it'll set you apart from everyone else even more as I haven't seen it in the snowboarding scene yet! Maybe a few times a month, and even once a week depending on whoever can help film.
@Frankwallfitness

@@tommiebennett Also, don't feel bad for plugging your course especially when you occasionally coach people, more people need to know about it! I'm stoked for you as everyone else and I in fitness has courses, but you are the first guy I believe to do it for snowboarding, super cool👊🏼 Say once a week..or whenever you coach someone you say "Did you you like the style of my coaching and how I was guiding Steph through these carves? Well if you can't see me in person and need more help, I do the exact same thing in my online course! It does x, y & z..... You might even do a quick screen share of you going over the videos briefly and what they get. Again, you don't have to do that in every video, and people will check it out anyways in the link. Each video you'll always have a new viewer, so they may not be aware. I've just spent so much on coaching myself to grow my business I wanted to share a few ideas to help you succeed like crazy as I understand the grind. God Bless You man✌🏼

You’ll notice you don’t stay “stacked” when you try to carve harder and bring the turn around more agressively, the hips and shoulders actually open which gives your legs better angles and flexibility while bending low. This was the key for me learning how to control my heel side carves more so thought it might be helpful to share.

What’s up man, I’ve been watching your videos and they’ve been super helpful! I had a question about proper technique… When you are carving at high speed, toe side, are you forcing the front of your shin into the tongue of your boot in order to hold the edge, or does that put too much pressure on your boot and risk the BOA releasing? Same question for heal side carving too.

Thanks Tommie for another great video!! Can you help to explain on early edge change in carving turns? 😁
@DjalmaBorges
@DjalmaBorges 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Eddie, two things that help are enough speed (but not too much that you can't hold an edge anymore) and making the end of your turns tighter. That'll "throw" your body over the board, similar to a quick bike turn (quick left before a right, if you know what I mean). I hope that helps

@MadProfessor153 9 ай бұрын
You're gonna have to spend some more time feeling uncomfortable going the "wrong" way. Maybe get back to the basics on a smaller run, even like a magic carpet hill. Take it slower speeds until you get passed that uncomfortable feeling. I see your comment was 2 years ago. Have you spent more time riding switch since then?

QQ: Do you sue camber or rocker or flat for your board? I read that all old boards were camber so I'm incline to go camber again (and maybe wide enough to carve more). Time to invest into a board instead of renting!
