Today we are casting our hands using the Luna Bean Keepsake Hands Casting kit. Learn how to make a hand plaster with this cement like mixture. This kit includes everything you need to create statue hands. There are 3 steps involved and takes about 10 minutes to create the mold. Then 2-3 hours to set the molding mixture. Finished 6 castings of my mothers hands. Used a water/Elmer’s glue mixture 1st then painted with acrylic paint. Waiting for them to dry completely before I paint them with a sealer. How long should I wait? Weeks? I also want to label each on the bottom with her name and date. Not sure what kind of pen to use that won’t smear when I paint the sealer over it. They are actually for myself & all my siblings. Our mother is almost 90 & fighting cancer again so we did these before she got bad. Do you have any recommendations for which pen to use? Thanks!
