Tom Hanks (American actor) is literally terrified of them . He goes on to say "They'll haunt your dreams. They're these things and they come up and they have these heads that if you look at them closely, they honestly look like something that the Mandalorian has to flee from out of the Tatooine."

Alf Bittner I was trying to understand what he was saying, basically the only thing I understood was the pliers. But it would be really bad if you're sitting in that area and then one of those things grabs a hold of nuts. But I wonder if they have them in the beaches of Louisiana or Mississippi

Most beaches of the world attracts life under the sand be it small ghost crabs bivalve molluscs and even worms. I've watched a documentary of dolphins in Florida using their sonar to locate a tube worm under the sand, then burrow with their nose to catch them. All you can do is get a catch bag with some bait in it and move it around the sand as the water moves in and out, a worm might pop up. Catching the bastard is another thing, or drive to Main and dig blood worms on the mud flats.

Fantastic video! Question: Is it safe to say there are sand worms on all beaches of the world? I am on the Gulf Coast of the USA so I'm wondering if we might have them here? I called my local fisheries dept and they started laughing when I asked them and said they had no idea nor had anyone ever asked them.

Good video Robbie, but why do you put a couple of pipis/cockles on top of sand at the end? I'm only presuming to feed them, but would have thought the worms would not be feeding when in dry sand and left in a cool place at home. Thanks.

@GetfishingAu 8 жыл бұрын
+Geoff Smith thanks mate. I collected the pipis while catching the worms. I planed to use them for bait also and put them in the bucket simply as somewhere to keep them. They are not food for the worms :)

Here in Liberia I have never seen a beach worm. Worms here are found in land .and quickly cut into pieces when they get in salt water. Are not used for sea water fishing. But they are good in river and other fresh water fishing.
