How exciting 😊 I started doing rituals about ten year’s ago and I’ll never forget my first. I probably spent a week setting up and almost as long to put everything back in it’s place 😹 I wouldn’t recommend haha. I still feel like I have a lot of items I’m called to when setting up alters, but I’ve calmed down quite a bit. I also do rituals for every full moon and most new moons. You’re lucky you’ve found a good source towards the beginning of your journey down this path. I used to read dozens of books then spend two days trying to incorporate everything into my rituals 😬 Welcome to the family ❤️

As a new slavic practitioner I was researching the topic of Imbolc very closely and didn't feel any connection to all the describtions of this day, so I decided to google it in my native language and see what comes up and I saw the holiday on the exact same day that slavic people celebrate and honestly that is when I felt the most connection. It is really wonderful! In my country it is a celebration of first signs of Spring, plus honoring the god of thunder - Perun and goddess of winter - Morena. It is believe that Perun brings thunder on this day to help the goddess of Spring to remember that her time is soon. (There are of course several different interpretations :) ). We also make special candles on this day that are then cherished through the whole year as a protective and celebrative tool. :)

i had no idea there was a Goddess of winter. I've always loved winter, but lately it's been hard to get the connection back, with my Seasonal Affective Disorder(winter blues) and my BPD and MDD. It gets me so depressed in the winter months and maybe learning about the season in this way will bring that back. I really do hate being this way, of course sometimes I just can't control it, but I wish it could go away sometimes so I can go out in the snow and just sit in it. Especially since it hasn't been too terribly cold this current snow storm, my dad says its warm enough it'll turn to rain soon, so it's most likely I could try to sit in it and not to cold!!!
@alenayushkevich8159
@alenayushkevich8159 Жыл бұрын
@@sophiedarnell467 Oh, don't feel bad for not having energy to practice too much in some seasons, it's totally fine! Winter is kinda for rest and gathering your resources and giving yourself an opportunity to just take care of yourself. I'm pretty sure there are goddesses of winter in a lot of cultures, Morena is associated with Ukraine, Belarus and Russia, so is Perun - the god of thunder. So just try to research about other winter goddesses and find the one that helps you understand that it is fine to not be fine during such a cold and dark season. But i do recommend trying to celebrate Imbolc/Gromnica (russian equivalent), because it represents spring coming back soon and you might feel better doing any activities that you have mental capacity for.

One of the phrases that really stands out to me in reviewing the Imbolc sections in books is "it's about the light, not warmth" and being in a very frigid area, it really hits home! I'll be bundling up in my snow pants and going on a short walk to really get in touch with my local land. Happy Imbolc!

Good for you. That's the way I choose to see Imbolc and January/February in particular. Most are bemoaning these months but they are missing the beauty and new beginnings instead focussing on the seemingly barren landscape and cold weather. Imbolc in particular has become a sabbat I really revere and look forward to. Wishing you abundant Imbolc blessings for your new and exciting beginnings.

Cleaned my entire apartment physically, currently making a paper Brigid cross that I'm gonna place above my front door, I made sun water, got some flowers and candles for my altar, cleansed energetically, gonna plant some flowers, had a walk with my dog in the nearby forest and I'll have a nice warm candelit bath in the evening. For my very first Sabbat, I'd say, not bad :D I love being a (baby) witch

Thanks for the great tips! 🌝 In my culture, we have a harvest festival called Sankranti (also called Pongal/Uttarayan/Magha/Bhogi etc.) that takes place mid January. And after I celebrate that, celebrating Imbolc feels like such a great continuation of the changing season. I love combining my Hindu festivities with Wiccan festivities. They have so many similarities. 🙂

I am fairly new to the practise (coming close to two years now) and never celebrated any of the Festivals so far. I decided to start celebrating them starting with Imbolc as I’m very attracted by the fire aspect of it 🔥 I’m planning to set my humble altar space with some elements like a woman shaped vase, many candles, amethyst and citrine, and also I will light up Myrrh incense and start meditation FINALLY 😅 Then tomorrow, if I feel brave enough, I might join a Pagan gathering here in London

This is my first Sabbat, and I'm trying to keep it low-key to make my practice more sustainable in my schedule. I'm planning on making some garlic and rosemary focaccia, eating lots of cheese, and maybe making a dish with roasted carrots and other root veggies. I also made some cleaning vinegar infused with rosemary, lavender and orange that I have written my intentions on to clean my floors with on Imbolc. I also want to set space to meditate, do some I Ching divination, and do some goal-setting. One of my goals is to do something for each of the Sabbats this year, starting with Imbolc, even if it's small. Your channel has been so helpful during my witchy journey! Thank you, Hearth

Sorry to be so over-fashionably late, lol! I looked to see if you had something about Imbolc and I'm really pleased to find this one from a year ago. Tbh, I never really resonated with Imbolc and I don't even like the word very much; I still call it Candlemass which, although it's Christian and I'm not, I think it's such a pretty name and fits with the light coming back to the world with the lengthening days. Anyway, your suggestions have really opened up new possibilities for me. I very much feel the need to spring clean this year, which I haven't done for a while due to a long-term disability that comes and goes. I finish off by sprinkling salt and water in the corners and cut a piece of Rosemary from my tiny garden to hang above the front door. Something else I do seasonally is decorate a small wreath on my kitchen wall, which I change according to the seasons. For January this year I added a circular garland of ivy with some fake snowdrops poking through and a string of tiny star lights. I really enjpy your videos, Hearth. I don't often comment but am gradually trawling through them all since subscribing. Great stuff! :) ✨✨✨

In every video I love your styling and makeup. The earrings are so beautiful. Thank you for this video. I usually have a hard time celebrating Imbolc because my energy levels are very low during winter but I always try to embrace this Sabbath through food and a walk in nature. Music helps a lot too. This year I want to also try cleaning my space and do extra offerings to the deities I work with but we'll see how that will go.

I've just moved very far away from Wisconsin to Washington (moved over 1700 miles) in the middle of December. I still have yet to meet the spirits around here. I live in the mountains now which is very different from the marshes and woods of Wisconsin, there is also Native American sites here. So I might just take some time over Imbolc to try and explore a little bit and see who I meet.

I’ve never celebrated this holiday very much but I am going to decorate my altar. I’m currently working on some crafts to use as decor for it. My mom got me a lovely orchid plant the other day to add to this which will make a nice touch :) one thing I always do is wear appropriate jewelry colors and stones, especially if I don’t have any clothes that feel right for the day, and I’ll do my nails to match as well. And, if the weather is nice, I’ll take a walk around a nearby lake with a friend that evening as the sun sets. Thanks for sharing your ideas!

I hope for good enough weather to clear out the dead in my garden and make way for life. I have a picture of the sun and my Gaia figure with colour correspondence candles I plan to put on part of my altar. I use Gaia for her life giving representation similar to Brigid as I haven't researched much into many dieties yet. Have a lovely Imbolc, thank you for a great video!

I very much enjoyed your content! And I noticed you were winding down, yet there was clearly several additional minutes left. Hmmm… Your outtakes are HILARIOUS! Thank you sharing those with us, in addition to your scripted content. 😂

I guess I subconsciously started celebrating Imbolc. I've started taking my dog on daily morning walks for many different reasons. For his and my own health, to wake myself up(I am not a morning person), to reconnect with nature, etc. We cross a sort of bridge thing where the road crosses over a man-made ravine to redistribute rain water. Whether there's running water or it's dry, we always stop to just be next to it. I suppose, similar to wells, man-made ravines probably have spirits connected to them too. Even with all that concrete.

It’s funny that this video pops up as I forgot Imbolc was approaching and was wondering why my rabbits were shedding like crazy lol. They always molt right around Valentine’s Day and also around the start of fall.

They are now offended that I’ve brushed them. How dare I imply they are poorly groomed!!!!!

I connect mainly with the purification aspect of this sabbat, so I'm going to cleanse the home and donate some Books I don't like anymore. i'm also going to meditate to clear the mind e do a divination Reading. Lastly i would like to do the spell you mentioned with incence burning on a petition paper. Thank you for the suggestion ✨

i'd love to see a witchy youtuber tackle being a witch in university, being in uni accom and student housing means no candles or flames and no incense and it also can mean that you can't make much noise so a lot of cleansings and spells are unavailable, i'm in a second year and honestly a lot of my practise has been on pause because of this. so if anyone had advice in general or make a video on it that would be awesome as putting my practise on a backburner due to uni has been quite sad ngl :/

I just added a 18”X18” black granit tile replacing the 12” x 12” Tile. The black stone from which to work.

Also to me and mine it was Candlemass as it was a time of lambing and a dark time and candles were running out and we needed to light the darkness it’s darkest befor the dawn (light)

I love imbolc. It's one of my favourite Sabbaths, because I hate the dark and cold season. The reminder that this time is coming to an end helps me to go an. I always light a candle and than I go from room to room and light all my lamps and candles to greet the awakening sun. What I also do is make candles I use in rituals during the year. Totally out of topic, but I love your style. I'm pale, too and am still searching for a foundation that works for me. Which one do you use? Or is your skin naturally flawless?
